Latest eGFR #'s

I had two sets of labs done, (1) yesterday 09/17 & another (2), done this morning. Yesterday's was fasting, today's was not.

Two seperate labs - to get most accurate reading.

 

09/17/13  [ fasting ]

BUN - 11

Creatinine - 1.10

BUN/ Creat Ratio - 10.0

Albumin - 4.7

09/18/13 [ non-fasting ]

Bun - 10

Creatinine - 1.15

Albumin - 4.8

** No Bun/ Cret Ration Available

    MG may I ask what units you

    MG may I ask what units you use for these measures? In my labs (Scotland) albumin is in g/L and the normal range is 35 - 50! What is your equivalent?

    Our ranges are the same as

    Our ranges are the same as yours TW.  My Albumin always runs slightly high.  51-55 usually, but the dr's think nothing of it.

    I believe so -

    4.8 g/ dL  is what the report says.

    No TW, I meant the CDN ranges

    No TW, I meant the CDN ranges are the same as Scotlands lol.  Michael's looking like a different unit.  Maybe the equivalent is 4 x 10.9 gl or whatever they use.

     

     

     Edit:  I just looked up my last result online to compare.  Came in at:

     

    H 51

     

    Range 35-50 g/l

    There is a 'Normal Range' on the report, at the right of my number.  Normal Range is - 3.6 G/ DL - 5.1 G/ DL

    I'm not sure what the equivalent is where you are.

    Measurements

    4.8 grams per decilitre is the same as 48 grams per litre.

    My latest eGFR (5 months out

    My latest eGFR (5 months out from surgery) last week is 34.  Can't remember the other numbers, but will look it up.

    No need to bother folks - it's completely clear now, though I do worry about your education system on that side of the Pond. 

    Garry, I'd be privileged to have you as my attorney or advocate but not as my accountant! It's not a matter of 6 of one and a half dozen of the other! It's actually 6 of one and 10 half dozens. 

    It's now clear that there's only a small variation among the labs in USA, Scotland and Canada in their expected ranges and they all measure the same way - the only difference lies in the units they express the findings in.  You guys in US state it in g per decilitre, whereas Canada and Scotland state per litre.  Therefore just multiply the US figure by 10 for strict equivalence.

    Accordingly, I'm relieved that adman's  number is 48 in the range 35 - 50 which is a great number. In fact all those quoted here look good (and contrast dramatically with my own which, in the past week, here in hospital, has been 21, moving to 23 yesterday and has given me the heebies being another sign of being at the end of a terminal illness!).

    MyeGFR has ranged from 39 to

    MyeGFR has ranged from 39 to 44,  But the standard on the form says >60.   That said I have a hunch a lot of us are in the low end of the scale.  T.W. hope your number keeps improving..!!!
