Oral Surgeon this morning **UPDATE**

On my way to see the oral surgeon.  I have a tooth (back top molar) that has broken 4 times.  Everyone (ENT, RAD ONC, dentist, etc..) want it extracted. It's on the opposite side of my surgeries and treatment.  He's going to see if I can open my mouth enough to get the darn thing out.  Silly as it sounds...I'm terrified.  I am so scared of dentists and it seems I'm living in their chairs lately.  I'll let y'all know how it goes!

    Hate going to the dentist.....

    Good thoughts and a lot of prayers...., and maybe a good shot of whiskey, LOL.

    going to the dentist is always a nerve-racking experience, good luck

    tracy, its NOT silly!!!  i'm sorry u have 2 go thru this.  i would rather see any doctor besides the dentist!!  he is the absolute worst.  i hope the extraction isn't 2 bad.  be sure they give u a script for pain meds.  wishing u the best.  let us know how it went.

    All done!

    No pain at all.  He was excellent, and he was the one that found my tumor last year.  It was so great to see him again and he gave me copies of my xrays.  I'll try to post pics later today.  Tasting some blood and it's a little sore, but it was no biggie :)  Thank you God!

    Just curious

    Hi Tracky,

    Just curious why the tooth, obviously bad for some time, was not extracted pre-treatment? Most of us were required to get such procedures done and then get a clearance as well. I was told that it is better to get this all done early and avoid situations you are facing now. Just curious, don

    I know that

    they didn't pull it when they first found the tumor because they wanted to get me into surgery asap and get that thing OUT.  Rads weren't on the table at that point and so they didn't worry too much about my dental work.  Once the first surgery didn't produce a clear path, they had to do the other surgery which is the reason we had to do rads.  I was SO swollen from having the two surgeries back to back that the rad onc was chomping at the bit to get my treatment started (it was later than he wanted because I couldn't even lay flat due to the major swelling).  My dental issues got pushed to the back burner.
