No Fishing Today
Jim's pain is increasing. It kept him up most of the night. He skipped fishing and finally agreed to take some pain med this afternoon. It doesn't seem to make him as goofy as the other pain med he had during tx. It does however make him dizzy and sleepy, but he is always sleepy. I have convinced him to take it tonight before bed so he can sleep. Hopefully the side effects will wear off by fishing time. I know he will give up if he cannot fish anymore. He told me the other day that if he couldn't go fishing he would only have TV to watch and he might as well quit if that happens. I don't want him to suffer but I also don't want him to be unable to fish. Anyway please keep him in your prayers.

Hi Debbie
Let Jim know there is nothing wrong with taking the pain meds, I have to take them or I would not be able to function. At this point it is all about the quality of life and doing the things you still love to do. I too love fishing both types, fishing for fish, and fishing for men; same pole different type hook one I do for myself the other for God.
God Bless

Hello Debbie !
It seems as if some days are worse than others. I know for me the bad days are extremely rough. I kinda give in to them, as my body needs me to. On my good days I feel as if I could conquer the world. Tell Jim not to give into the bad of these days.....easier said than done believe me I know. I have talked with my primary, about the pain. He assurred me as my disease progresses I would be kept as pain free as he possible. And I agree with Jim, I hate the meds....and what they do to us. But quality means we shouldn't be in pain also. I would discuss again with your primary the issues Jim dislikes, and see if there is a compromise. And of coarse Debbie I keep you in Jim in my thoughts and prayers always ! Hugs sent ! Katie

Debbie,
Usually send mojo and positive thoughts. Tell Jim I'm sending him nothing but thoughts of fish - big and small - so he can get out there again soon!!

Thank you all for your kind
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. Jim took another dose of pain med last night and slept through until fishing time. He went this morning but the fish weren't hungry. When he came home he was exhausted but happy. He took another dose and napped for four hours. He looks much better this afternoon. I think this new med will be good for him as it doesn't make him confused and wander off. We appreciate your prayers, keep them coming. I son't know what I would do without you all.
