Goals Achieve and Reset!!
I just passed a milestone I didn't think I'd see! When I was diagnosed with my recurrence in 2009 we were just about to move. I had a 6th Grader, a 4th Grader and a PreK child. At that time, it hurt to breathe. Cancer had metastisized to my sternum and I was in so much pain that I actually wasn't breathing enough and getting dizzy. At the time, still being here in 2 weeks wasn't even an attractive proposal!
My Radiation Onc. told me to get my affairs in order and then spend time with people I loved! So I got busy doing that! I've been spending time with people I love for 4 1/2 years now.
When my oldest son started high school, it seemed like too much to dream to still be alive to get my younger son (the afore mentioned 4th Grader) settled in high school.
A few weeks ago, that boy started high school and I was here to get him all settled in! I was telling my Onc. what a big deal that was to me and he said - 'I think you'll still be here to see that one graduate'.
I have reset my GOALs!
Keep fighting! There were some real tough times getting this far but there were some AMAZING times too. If I can do it, YOU can do it!!
