One Year Survivor
Hi to all,
Just wanted to check in and share that next week is the one year anniversary of my surgery. I will be 10 months post rad also.
I lost 1/3 of my tongue, had radical neck dissection, a skin graft from my leg to my tongue and a tracheotomy for several days while in the hospital. Then a nightmare of treatment that followed including radiation and chemo.
I'm happy to say I am thriving! I can eat real food and my ability to taste is so much better. I'm not the same as I was before cancer, but I'm doing really well.
My doctors have been pleased with how I'm doing every step of the way.
Thanks again to all here who are so very supportive. You truly helped me through some of my darkest days.
It's nice to have good news to share.
Be well and happy,
~Vicki

WTG Vicki!!
Amazing isn't it....when we live one day at a time, put one foot in front of the other....that the time DOES go by, and we truly do recover. Great to hear you're doing so well.....

one anniversary is great!
Good luck to you ! Sounds fabulous. On my one year anniversary I gave my oncologist a bottle of burgundy...
that is our (head and neck cancer) color...he was pleased, and delighted to hear we've organized our movement.
I wear burgundy/maroon every chance I get.
Congratulations to you, and your cat!
