Pushing along
Hi All....
I finished up 8 Accu Boost treatments last week. Boy am I glad that is over!!!!! Very painful! I have 22 more radiation treatments and then I'll be finished. My Pet scan results were negative and my Mamma Print came back low risk (thank God). I have some slight burning at the surgery site from the Accu Boost, but so far so good. Thanks so much for asking. It means alot to have the support!

The Accu Boosts were treatments that have you compressed in the same type of machine as a mammogram. The difference being that it's compressed MUCH tighter and lasts about 40 minute in that position. The mamma print is a genetic test that oncologists can run that cross-type 22 genes and determine your risk for reoccurence of cancer. Should the test come back high risk it means you have a 50-60% chance of reoccurence and low risk means a 5-10% chance. I just lost my best friend to breast cancer and believe that with this horrible disease, percentage don't always predict outcome. I just pray for the best.

Hi All....
Sorry I haven't been on in a while. My daughter surprised me and came to visit from Oklahoma for two weeks. It was wonderful!! I'm doing really well. Down to only 7 Rads left. I have just started some burning, but just keep slapping on the Aquaphor. It's really not too bad. I'll start my hormone therapy (Arimidex) when my rads are finished and pray to have NED for the rest of my life.
I hope all is going well with everyone.....or should I say, as well as can be expected with this nasty disease. My prayers are with you all.
