Interestingly, the Greek Theatre at Epidaurus is directly adjacent to the Temple of Asclepius where Hippocrates practiced I am told! For me that is not surprising.
Hippocrates treated the body's ills, while the Greeks, I contend, used theatre to treat the society's ills!
Frankly, I think the two go hand in hand.
If mental attitude directly affects physical health as we seem to acknowledge, then theatre, a socially required activity for Greek citizens, certainly could affect one's outlook on life!
Hmmm!
That's very interesting, Michael. I was not aware of that.
When I was in Turkey last year, I saw the communal bathrooms in Ephesus where the politicians met to conduct business and do their business.
Speaking of things that go hand in hand...

Well, ya.
When I used to drink, I'd rest my beer and a TV remote on their heads. A bowl of chips if the head was big enough.
Now its a perfect resting spot for the gazoombas.
Keeps their ears warm in winter too.

I've always found that to be true, too. When I was in school, it took me awhile before I realized why, as the tallest girl in my class, all the shorter guys wanted to dance with me.....they had all developed a "pillow" fetish! LOL. I also found I had a really soft spot (no pun intended) for shorter men as I got older. I am happily married to a man about 2" shorter than me.

I remember at an amusement park when I was about 8-10. Put a penny in the machine and a cartoon popped up. It was a short guy dancing with a taller woman. His face stuffed into the pillows. It was captioned, "Dancing in the dark."

Tillie, I too have a soft spot for shorter men.
Don't know how to explain except to say that they're such fun!

[50 Shades of Grey by Pam Ayers]
FIFTY SHADES OF GREY - (a husband's point of view)
The missus bought a Paperback,
down Shepton Mallet way,
I had a look inside her bag;
... T'was "Fifty Shades of Grey".
Well I just left her to it,
And at ten I went to bed.
An hour later she appeared;
The sight filled me with dread...
In her left she held a rope;
And in her right a whip!
She threw them down upon the floor,
And then began to strip.
Well fifty years or so ago;
I might have had a peek;
But Mabel hasn't weathered well;
She's eighty four next week!!
Watching Mabel bump and grind;
Could not have been much grimmer.
And things then went from bad to worse;
She toppled off her Zimmer!
She struggled back upon her feet;
A couple minutes later;
She put her teeth back in and said
I am a dominater !!
Now if you knew our Mabel,
You'd see just why I spluttered,
I'd spent two months in traction
For the last complaint I'd uttered.
She stood there nude and naked
Bent forward just a bit
I went to hold her, sensual like
and stood on her left tit!
Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;
My god what had I done!?
She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
"Step on the other one"!!
Well readers, I can't tell no more;
About what occurred that day.
Suffice to say my jet black hair,
Turned fifty shades of grey.

I've deliberately avoided reading any of the "Grey" books, but now I'm intrigued.
If they read anything like your prose, they'll be a hell of a lot more fun than I ever thought.

Annie
Almost all of the tall men I knew back in the day only went after the tiny little women, cause they felt protective. The short men went after the tall women...I dated a disk jockey in the late 60's that was a good 4" shorter than me and I sister that I wear 3" heels when we went out...that put his head right about my arm pit....or mid boob area....at all times. Do you think he had an ulterior motive in dating me? Course, back then, I had a body made for a mini dress/short shorts/bikini. Sadly, not anymore, and especially not with the scars...it's strictly a one piece for me now. LOL

Annie... I can handle it... no problemo... The greatest love I have had so far, was 5'11" bare footed.. she was around 170 pounds, and NOT fat... well proportioned I would say.. or very well proportioned... she ruined me for other women for years after... in many ways...
My memory is sooooo bad.. didn't I tell the story of a New Years party I went to about 30 years ago..?

Oh one thing about a tall woman... you will know 100% for sure what I am looking at, if I look down.. while on a short gal, she assumes what I am looking at... is her eyes of course..!

Tillie, you're exactly right about the tall men. It also seems as though they want a smaller woman to make themselves look even taller.
Whereas, shorter men absolutely worship us. ESPECIALLY in heels.
In honor of this conversation, and the fact that the conductor on the train today is 4' 11", I'm going to wear 4-inch heels and watch him MELT.
Ciao.

Would be eye to eye! I've never danced, nor much of anything else , with anyone that tall before!
So, regarding the train, how is the bullet I've heard so much about?
