Olaparib update
Just checking in with 4 month results of being on olaparib. Ca 125 has went from 247 to 16! Never got that low with frontline chemo. I'm thrilled it is working. I will continue to stay on it as long as it is working. Thanks for reading and your support:).

I'm an old-timer here, but not familiar with the new meds. Hope there aren't too many side affects. Those are super numbers!
(((HUGS)))
MonikaThanks for reply. No side effects yet other than slight fatigue.

These are terrific results Shawnna!
I believe that PARP inhibitors such as Olaparib are the much needed light at the end of the tunnel both for maintenance and treatment of ovarian cancer patients. I wish they were FDA approved and available outside of clinical trials.

Hopefully they will be FDA approved soon. The side effects for me have been minimal. I've heard of another lady who has been on this drug for 18 months and her ca 125 is in single dIgits.

I can't get Olaparib in Canada and believe me, I have tried everything but break into AstraZeneca's warehouse. I wish I could buy some horse pills off you.

AAlexandria suppose unless you are having a recurrence they prolly aren't available at this point but I did meet a gentleman from Canada yesterday at the NIH who was doing a trial for kidney cancer so I suppose if you ever needed To get into a clinical trial for olaparib you would be eligible at the NIH:).
