    My parents, relatives and even people here where I live have skin cancer and have it burned off.  It isn't the worst kind of skin cancer but the one that is so prevelant in people who didn't have sun screen in their youth as it wasn't invented yet or not on the market.

    However, if you are starting chemotherapy, I don't know if you can start if you have an open sore.  I guess that I am not much help to you.  I hope things will work out for the best and you will learn more about it at your appointment.

    I am so sorry that I have not responded, but I have really focused on the posts about Chenheart.

    Well, the dermatologist was supposed to call me right away, but they did not.  On July 3rd when I went in for my appt. they nurse was

    "ohhhh, my"  and then the doctor came in.  He explained that the pathology report said he needed to go deeper and wider.  So he  did,

    and with a second spot too.  Now I have  two holes in my cheek :( .

    Tomorrow I  will see my oncologist for a check up and will share the path  reports with him.

    Hi Carol
    Right after I was daignosed w bc mets, I showed onco some skin lumps, he sent me for a biopsy, it was bc (idc) in my skin.. The lumps wemt away with chemo for the mets.
    Hope all goes well for ypu tomorrow!

    My oncologist read the reports and said it is good for now. He also said to expect other squamous cells, and to be diligent about getting to the dermatologist.  

    NOW, my bloodwork shows that I am anemic and my platelets are low.   He wants me to have a colonoscopy,

    but ironically I have one scheduled this coming week!!!

    Glad your onco gave you some good news.  Good luck with the colonoscopy.  I haven't had one yet and know that I should.
