♥ What Kind Of Cellphone Do You Have & Why Do You Like it? ♥
I've been thinking of getting a new phone and it seems everyone has their favorite, so, I thought I would put the question to my pink sisters, and, see what you have and tell what it has and why you like it.
If I choose one of yours as a result of your post, you will win that Nigerian Lottery that I posted about before!
Thanks, Susie

Hey Susie,
I have an LG phoneHey Susie,
I have an LG phone with Verizon. We chose Verizon because of the coverage. We had Nextel/Sprinit when we went to Yellowstone and were with out service for 11 days. We do not have "Smart" phones. We do good just texting. So we have "Dumb" phones with slide out qwerty keyboards. Ha Ha

Picture this:
Verizon store. Upgrade eligible. Need for more than just a phone, so a smart phone.
Old woman. Disposable income.
Samsung Galaxy S4.....16GB memory on board. Quad core processor. INCREDIBLE camera....both front and back.....
SOOOOOO....yes, I do love it!!! BUT they DID 'see me coming'!

dumb phone
I have a dumb phone and i love it. Because although I am only 35 I was never into talking on the phone or texting. I like to be left alone and having a "dumb phone" is a reason for it.

I am on my second droid.
I am on my second droid. Love em. I bought Katherine an iphone for Christmas and she misses her droid. The swift key app has never been replicated by the iphone and it takes so much longer to text (no intuitive texting with memory).
My hubbie loves his iphone because, even though there is no swift key app, it has many other apps he likes and he really likes the camera. We liked the iphone Disney World apps the best when we were in DW.
The swift key app will work on any android phone and I hear great things about the Samsung phones too. Something about the hardware on the iphone makes it incompatible.
My sister bought a microsoft phone, but it has almost no apps. I wouldn't recommend it.

I hate to sound dumb, but, what is a swift key app Cynthia? I also have a dumb phone as I don't really need anything else, but, I admit that I am tempted to get a smart phone too. I was thinking of the Iphone, but, you make the droid sound a lot better.

I had to get a smartphone to keep track of all of the stuff for Hans. I used the calendar app alot....and the Facebook one, of course...
I could sit in Hans' hospital room, connected to the free WiFi there, and do what I needed to do. I also like the bigger screen on the S4....and the 'talk to text'....Many of the nurses came in to look at it....2 said they have IPhones, but that this S4 does it better...they were seriously thinking of switching. I LOVE the apps....Google Translate has one, so I can 'talk' to people in just about every language...on the go!!!!

Cynthia? There are several Droid phones, the Droid Maxx, Droid Maxx with black bundle and others. Which one do you have?
Kathi and Denise, you both have the Samsung Galaxy s4?
My carrier is Verizon Wireless and I've never had a problem with them. I will go to a store to check out the new phones. Just wanting to know what you all like and have as it is confusing. Well, to me it is. lol
Thanks!

I have a dumb phone too. I don't text and I rarely use it. I use our land line for phone calls.

The Galaxy 4 is bigger....but I don't mind....always loosing a smaller one in my purse.....also, don't have to 'open' the screen to see it....(sorry...don't know the real word...I AM almost 60, after all...*grin*).
I am with Verizon, also. I went in, and they told me and showed me the differences....the Galaxy 4 has feedback of less battery life...BUT I make sure all of my apps are closed (they can show you how), so I have had no trouble with it....and you can always buy an inexpensive charger over the internet as backup if you are not near a car charger or at home near a plug. I just plug mine in each night....
Also, the 4 has 'quad core' processor...so it's faster than the 3. And, the camera on the 4 is sharper, from what the ratings say....I can even take a picture into the sun, with clarity....
The nice thing about the 4 (and I belive the 3 also) is that Verizon has gone into partnership with Vodaphone...an International cell provider...the new '4G' will allow my phone to work internationally, as long as I notify Vodaphone and Verizon (upgrade the sim...it's different in the rest of the world...*smile*)....excellent for me, when I start traveling again....

Swift key app is an app that you can install on any android phone. It actually remembers what you have typed recently and begins to fill in the words. For example, if I type just once that I am seeing Dr. Lorenzo at Slidell Infusion Center. The next time I type anything similar the same words will pop up including proper names. It is hard to explain, but it makes proper texting so much easier.
I searched everywhere for a similar app for the iphone and some geeks claim that the iphone has weird hardware that is not compatible with the app.
It aggravates Katherine to not have it, but it doesn't bother Danny.
Check out reviews and ratings--there are many good smart phones.

I also have Verizon because coverage around here is spotty with other carriers. I don't have a brand new Droid (I think I bought it last Sept); it is a Droid Razr Maxx. I am not sure that it is even made anymore, but it is not one of the bigger models. I had a larger Droid before and didn't like that model as well because the phone that wouldn't fit in my pocket.
That is a personal preference and I know the larger ones come with more bells and whistles :-).
Part of why I like the Droid is that I am familiar with it and I don't like change...Lol. My daughter's friend has the Samsung Galaxy and loves it. She has also had an iphone and a droid--she loves the latest and greatest phones ;-).

Had the HTC EVO from Sprint prior. When the battery died like Denise's phone, the clerk said that 90% of new phone sales were iphone5. My EVO had been replaced and no longer available, etc. Since it was also a smart phone, I had no problem using the iphone. There are more apps for it than anyone will ever need. It is super user friendly. The icons are easy to figure out. I'll always dislike auto correct on any of the phones! Camera is really good on these phones. Takes such clear pics. Good luck shopping for your new one. Linda
