some bleeding from nose and congestions
Good Morning Everyone,
Hope you are all well. It's been a while since I have been on the site. Mom is hanging in there with her treatements. Has anyone noticed blood pieces mixed with mucous coming out of their nose? Is this from the chemotherapy? Her oncologist seems to believe this is a non issue. But she is also saying she feels congested.
Warmest Regards,
Nellie

Yes
Hi Nellie. I get that too. I think it's from the Avastin, is that what she's on?

yes
Yes, I have had both a runny nose and slight bleeding for several days after chemo. It was listed as a side effect on the sheets I received from my onc. I was doing FOLFOX but now only 5FU and still have the problem.

same thing
I had the same thing on FOLFOX + Avastin, somewhat less since removing Oxaliplatin from the mix, but still there.

Nellie:
My husband had this continually. I think this is a very common side effect. Saline nasal spray does help break things up and then you can blow it out or it will run out. Sounds gross but it worked quite well for George. I think what he used was Simply Saline.
