Pink Bus
It's a good thing that I know how to drive a "clutch"! Who ordered the "double decker" bus in the first place? That's O.K., I'll put all the roudy ones up there and hope they don't fall out! HA HA HA HAA! Pit stops at the liquor store. Now who has the fried chicken?
(((HUGS))) and prayers

OMG goodness it's mid afternoon.I missed the Pink Bus.Probably you're already back. Olga, wishing you good test results. Keep us updated as soon as you find out.
Hope all of you didn't get to tipsy after stopping at the Liquior Store on the way home.If so you'll have to sober up before the drive home.

Thank you very much. the ride was fun, we laughed all the way to the radiology.
well... Procedure itself. It was something wrong with IV, i could not hold my arm up, because it was painfull. the technician allowed me to keep my IV arm down, however she mentioned that the picture quility could be compromised. That was the first time I had a problem like today. I have a question to CT scan veterans, what is the reason to keep arm with IV catheter up?
my appointment with oncologist is scheduled on Thurday. I will let you know as soon as I learn about results.
hugs
PS. my heart breaks for Jamie and her family, it has been very hard.

It could be your vein was trying to 'blow'...a delicious term used for when the walls of the vein are weakened, and so can open. It's not particularly dangerous in an arm...at least that is what I was told...I experienced more an itching than pain....BUT, through my double cancer journey, all but one of my veins in my elbow were 'blown'....some have scar tissue that close them forever, one, if a pediactric needle is used, is still accessable. I guard that one 'good' vein like a Bull Terrier!!!! *smile*
By having your arm lowered, it may have been an attempt to use gravity to help stop the 'blow' possibility...or, in the act of keeping your arm straight...
Yes, I, too, am very sad with the news of Jamie...

Thank you for the update, dearest!!!!
And I reread your question:
The reason to keep your arm up normally with a CT for the chest/breast is to move all of the 'fatty bits' (breast tissue...*grin*) to as flat a position as possible. The less tissue the CT has to go thru, the better picture it creates....
But, as far as the pediatric needle....I always insist, unless there is an explanation as to why not. Some test deliveries require a faster flow, but for the rest....if it is a choice, even for Lab blood draws, I ALWAYS choose pediatric! (Makes the tech be more careful, too...harder to hurt me when finding the vein....*grin*...it's all about ME, as usual....*grin*)
Hugs, Kathi
