Thinking of you Kit! FeelLoveBabyJesus said:Ignorance
There are so many ignorant things people say about cancer it is best to simply walk away (or educate them, if you have the energy to spare).
I am sorry you had to hear another stupid comment from someone who has no clue. I only hope she is checking herself to make sure she catches it early. Who knows! She might be one of the people to think: no family history, no cancer - both comments are pretty much parallel to each other.
Please remember that you are in a better position than she is because (1) you are educated and (2) you've been there done that - I know this part might not be exciting, but it gives you an edge when educating others.
If you are angry at her, you can do one of two things: (1) you can report her or (2) you can teach her a lesson by telling her she is ignorant, and explaining why. Both would take energy out of you. Remember to also forgive her.
Feel better soon and know that you're cared for.Thinking of you Kit! Feel better and keep us updated when you have time.
Hugs, June

Dr Charisma-Bypass...
When I was first dx in 2007 I met my onco for the first time... he said "You WILL have chemo, you WILL go bald, get a wig, and you WILL have to put up with ME for the next 5 years. I was scared to death and asked if chemo was really necessary, his reply: "Up to you, doesn't make any difference to me if you prefer to die" Hence the name Dr Charisma-Bypass! LOL

Some people don't know whatKIMKATAOKA said:What can you say about stupid people
I just do not know what to say when someone say commits like that. People do not know what to say to people with cancer so someithing stupid and evil comes out.
Some people don't know what to say and sometimes the wrong things come out of their mouth. Although, what she said was really stupid. Keep posting so we know you're doing well.

This woman should have acamul said:Another stupid remark.
I certainly wish that were the truth! Then I would be in a different position. I certainly wouldn't let that twit ruin my day, and it certainly wouldn't warrant tears from me. That is just another ignorant remark. I think if every person who made these remarks had to endure, one chemo treatment they would certainly change thier tune! lol wouldn't that be something!!
Go on with your day and don't look back, not worth the effort. The effect of cancer regardless if it is stage I or stage IV is reflected not only in our bodies, but also in our whole outlook. I really do hope you can look pass this and just celebrate that you are here 3 years later. One thing we all learn when going through this God-awful disease, is that every day is precious, as are our family and friends.
This woman should have a zipper in place of her mouth and it should be closed all of the time. I apologize also for what she said to you. Please just move on and know that you have a lot of support here. Look at all of the wonderful responses.
God bless you!

A comment like that brings
A comment like that brings back all the "guilt" I have felt because my younger sister has stage IV BC that has recently spread to her lungs and liver. It had advanced from stage II to stage IV when it progressed to her bones in 2008, 2 years after Dx.
Remembered your post and wondered how you might be doing now. I hope that your life is much better now and that you're doing fantastic!
Lots of hugs!
