Ride on, Doc Hawk
The following was posted on Ray (Doc Hawk) FB page about 5:30 pm yesterday by his ex-wife:
*********************
My ex-husband Ray Poulsen lost his battle with cancer about an hour ago. He fought to the end as he always said he would. Our daughter Sabrina is understandably devastated.
He always said he wanted no tears at his funeral so I'm going to try to remember good things about him
First memory to share and get a smile- story he told me from before we married: When he was young he had a female friend ride a horse through his parents house. Evidently the horse hoof chipped the wood floor. Of course, they denied to Delma (Ray's mom). He confessed this to her in Dec 1982/Jan 1983 before he went back to Plattsburgh NY hoping she would ground him so he wouldn't have to go back.
I'm glad he went back or I'd never have met him and we wouldn't have Sabrina
*************************
He will be missed.

So sad
This news is getting harder and harder to read. I feel like I know these people and they are my friends. I know we are all online buddy's but these are the people that understand more than anyone. Ray had such a talent for writing, he will be missed by all of us. I know he is pain free.

so sad
My condolences to his family. He was so nice on this board. Just a kind person. And he wasn't afraid to be real about our disease. He held nothing back, which a lot of us need/needed to hear. I will miss his voice.
Ride on, man
peace out.

Such Sad News
This is so hard to read. His posts were so heart-felt and was always so encouraging.
When I was first dx'ed on 1/13/12, he was one of the first to reach out.
He is at peace now, no more pain, no more cancer. Just peace!
Doc Hawk / Ray - you will be very missed.

I am so sorry. Doc Hawk will be fondly remembered. I am very happy that he had that good stretch with visits from his lady friend and daughter. May they find peace knowing the joy that they brought to him.
So many losses lately. So sad.

Saddened
He was a great asset on this board and just wrote recently about his struggles. I'm saddened for his passing but know that he is a better place than the suffering he was going through. Much love to the family and remember that he was a valued member of this board. Carry on dear friend.

No matter how tough it got for you, you always made us smile with your "fantasy" destinations and sense of humor.
My condolences to Doc's family.
