    Hi everyone,

    My name is Melissa, and I am Jamie's daughter.  I wanted to let you all know that Mom passed away last Thursday, July 18th, just after 7:00 pm.  She was brought to the emergency room by her oncologist on 7/11, and admitted to the hospital with pneumonia.  She suffered severe nausea while in the hospital and her breathing became worse, so she was moved to ICU on 7/15 and placed on a ventilator.  The cancer had overtaken her right lung so severely that even if they were able to cure the pneumonia, she still would not be able to breathe.  We removed the ventilator at her request 7/18, and she passed hours later.

    Mom talked about this message board often, and I know she truly valued the friendship and support she found from you all on here.  I am very glad she had this resource, as I never really could offer any valuable advice.  May you all continue to support each other in your journeys as you navigate this horrible disease.

    Thank you for telling us that your mother passed away.  My sincere sympathies to you and your family.  Jamie was very special poster on this forum and I am very sorry to read your message.

    I know she had a very aggressive cancer that didn't seem to be contained by anything that was used.  I will miss Jamie.  She was a very strong fighter against a very horrid disease.

    May good memories of your mother substain you in the days ahead.

    Melissa, I send my condolences.
    I am so sorry as I read this. Your mom went through a lot and I was hoping when there was no news that she was busy with summer and just living. She really was liked here and I know I will miss her posts and online friendship.
    I wish all her family and friends my best and will keep you in my prayers.

    This is sad news

    I'm very sorry to read this. I enjoyed Jamie's posts. Her words revealed a warm lively person with a big heart and a great sense of humor. I had always hoped her treatment would kick cancer to the curb and that she'd thrive.

    Melissa,Thank You for posting.We all would've wondered how she was doing and worried.Lot of times it seems pneumonia takes a toll on people.Esp when they're fighting something else like this beast.I would be like you mom.I would fight and only give up unless there was no other way.Deepest Sympathy to you and your family.Jamie will be missed by all of us.
