Gamma knife
My daughter has had Gamma Knife twice for GBMs. there was no side effects to the radiation except a little bit of tiredness. The procedure is not painful, but having the frame on for over 6 hours did make her upset. Our suggestion is to bring a long bendable straw so that you can be able to drink and eat with your chin down to get the food into your mouth. Her procedure was 2 1/2 hours, and I would suggest have something to relax you if yours is that long. She said lying on her back and not moving was uncomfortable. Tomorrow she has her follow up MRI to see how well it worked. Good luck and I hope this helped.

Thank you! My husband had it today. He has been having headaches from it and is very tired. I pray that all goes well for your daughter's follow-up.

Thank you. I pray that your husband will also do well, and the results from his Gamma Knife will be positive.
