Thinking of you CC
Thinking of you CC. I am going to be a week behind you now. My oncologist gave me an extra week off. She realized that one of my week off was spent having iron infusion. Thought I looked tired. My blood values all returned to practically normal.
Hoping it went well for you today.
Hugs,
Doris

Had chemo yesterday. Still
Had chemo yesterday. Still having minor bump with perjeta (last chemo of the day). We have tried moving aloxi closer to infusion time, taking claritin in am, taking ativan right before. Ativan made me sleepy but still had the sudden nausea and flushing. They gave me an extra dose of zofran and I slept for two hours. Slowing the perjeta infusion time doesn't make a bit of difference.
Today, I am fine but a little woozy...Lol. Went into outpatient to get neulasta and IV fluids (my usual preventive stuff). Because the infusion center was closed (4th pushed treatment back), I was able to visit with 3 coworkers and that was a real treat!
Sleepy this PM, but doing well!!!
Thank you for all of the well wishes!!!

Sorry for your rough time, and pray SE recovery is swift.
I had a bad time with n/v last time and onco gave me Sancuso patch to put on night before chemo (each patch stays on a week), and generic Kytril for any break through n/v. It is really helping this round. Have you tried either of these along with Emed infusion with chemo?

CC,
Glad that your chemo is over for this week and your doing well. Ativan makes me sleepy too. I use it before going to bed and knocks me right out. It helps with methotrexate (drug for uveitis) as I don't feel awful the next day. I have a friend who is doing treatment (2nd time around for non-hodgkins lymphoma) and whatever they give her (I forgot the names of the pre-drugs) she sleeps mostly through her infusion.
Glad that you had a nice visit with your co-workers too.
Hugs to you,
Doris

Dear Sandy,
I copied the name of the Sancuso patch to a file a few years ago in case I would ever need it. Taxol is fairly good to me in regards to nausea. I'm glad that it works for you. I hope your chemo went ok too.
Best,
Doris

I did get emend too. Patch didn't work for me as well as zofran.
Good news is my nausea is mostly controlled. I just have a wave of it with perjeta only. We are trying different meds. Probably will go back to giving me ativan when it happens (not before). That makes me sleep 2 hours, but that is ok.
Doing well today. Just having a little bone (jaw) pain after neulasta. Had that last time too. On claritin and advil is helping.
Thanks for the suggestions though!!!

Ditto here, Doris. I prefer ativan to ambien if I need something to sleep. I have less of the blues the next day. I know I will need an ativan tonight because the steroids will have me up all night otherwise.

Glad to hear you're doing better today. It's amazing how different we are. One med works good for one person and has very little effect on another. Everyone gets a different set of SE.
Personally I think I was put together with spare parts because I get weird SE. The middle of my first week after getting chemo I started losing my voice, and by the first day of the second week I could barely make a sound. I told my onco and he never heard of this SE. My voice started coming back before next chemo and we decided to wait and see what would happen after this chemo. It's now the second day and my voice is going away again. If my kids were still at home they would be thrilled mom can't talk.
