Hi Everybody .....sure do miss you all ..UPDATED ENT Visit
Hello all ....
I know this may sound corny ..but I sure do miss "yapping" and seeing all your posts. I so wish I could get caught up.
UPDATE: As many of you know, I have mom in my care right now trying to figure out where to go and what to do for her detiorated state of mind (moderate dementia is the word the neurologist used this past Thursday) ...she has been in my home since I flew back with her after my visit to Daytona May 25 - June 5.
My ENT visit went great. He saw nothing of concern. I was suppose to have my CT scan read to me the same day mom saw the neurologist, but I cancelled that because of mom's appt was more pressing (she wants to return to Daytona on her return flight July 16 and I am afraid I will not be able to allow that to happen) since I have to move on the operational front to secure guardianship, I need those doctors to make their determination, or my power of attorney papers dad / mom signed two years ago will be of no use.
Of course I am praying for a good scan read, but I will have to find out about that later.
I feel as if I am being rude or uncaring when I don't check in on you all...of course I know that's not the case, I guess it's the "southern bred" in me ....
So just a hello, miss you all....As soon as I get figured out with mom I hope to be back up and checking in more often ..
Prayer whispered for all as I hit submit ..
Tim

Hey stranger
Tim,
I promise to look the other way if you are rude or uncaring; I mean bring it to your attention. Life catches up to us, your team fixed you up for a good reason. A few more whispered prayers floating around will serve us all well.
Good luck with your Mom and don’t leave me hanging on your scan. Phrannie promised me the next “Happy Dance” in her kitchen.
Next door neighbor,
Matt

Life sure has allot of twists and turns, doesn't it? Goes to show what an excellant job your parents did in raising you that your immediate priority lies where it does and scan results have gone on the back burner. I know how difficult it was several years ago to convince my Mother to sell her home and move to independent living, a move we do not regret. She currently has out-of-pocket 24/7 care which is extremely expensive but she is not ready for assisted livng yet. Rehab will allow her some time alone in the near future. I am VERY fortunate to have 6 siblings and we each play a role in Mom's care even though my older sister is the primary caregiver. Guess I'm trying to say that I empathize with you and know it is a difficult position. Harder even for you with a young family too. Don't lose sight of caring for yourself! Think of you often and know that we are always in your thoughts and prayers and that you haven't forgotten us by any means.
God bless,
Candi

Tim ,
I am so sorry that you and your Mom and Family are having to deal with Dementia . It is such a hard diease to deal with for all of you and so sad to see. My dad had Dementia but my Mother took care of him . I pray that you and her Doctors figure out what is best for her and soon. I had my Mother in my home after a stroke for 2 1/2 years and that was the hardest thing I've ever had to do , but don't regret a minute of it except the time I missed with my Grand Children . I hope you find a place close by for her to live because I've been told it's very hard to take care of someone with Dementia. I guess what I am trying to say without sounding bossy and cold is please don't try to take care of her in your home with your young Family that you have to take care of . My best to you at this very difficult time . You are all in my thoughts and prayers .

FIRST THINGS FIRST
Hey Tim, you have to take care of your mom's situation first, and we will always be here for when you do have more time. I send out my best wishes and thoughts for things to go as well as possible for you with your mom (a most challenging situation to say the least), and that your CT report gives you the cherished NEDS news.

Mom
Had same issue with my mother. She was such an active and bright person, but when her mind started to go it was too sad and I had to make a decision. Placed her in assisted living, she was major upset for about 2 days, then fell into the routine there and was much happier. It was a great place and my wife or I could visit almost every day. Best decision I could have made, still a very difficult one.
