I have chemo

at eleven today.  I haven't recouped from the last one on May 29th.  I still feel tired and when I try to do anything I have hot flashes or cold sweats.  My blood work from yesterday improved but some of the red blood counts are still low and one white blood count is at the minimum.  I didn't hear from the doctor so I guess I am still on.

I don't know what my CA 125 is.  I am so chicken to call so I guess I'll hear today.  It was 25 the last time after one chemo.

I am wearing a t-shirt I bought that says "One Cute Bald Chick Kicking Cancer's Butt."  I don't know about cute but I am bald and I am trying to kick cancer's a##.

I am so dreading the sick feeling that will come in a couple of days.  I always tell my mom it feels like a mule kicked me in the stomach.  She asked, "Why a mule?"  Well, a goat or horse or a punch by Mike Tyson.  I haven't found anything to help with that feeling but time.

I pobobaly won't be on here much for a few days.  I can't post on my Kindle.  It won't type in the Body section.

    I remember that feeling so

I remember that feeling so well. I hated the sick feeling I got even if i didn't actually throw uo, but I always dreaded the joint pain that would start after 2 or 3 days that came, I think, from the neulasta shot. Ugh, that was the worst. But it always went away and if you can keep that in your head, that it is time limited, it will help.

Sending you lots of good wishes...hang in there and remember that this too shall pass!

    Hi ladies.

I just got home and feel drunk.  My friend says she thinks they gave me too much benadryl (two pills).  I had my eyes closed most of the time but it was too noisy to sleep.  I told my friend they sounded like a bunch of magpies.  Each patient had two or three people with them.

I told my mom I should call a friend I use to party with in my youth and tell her to pick me up, I am ready to party.  My friends use to have to drive me around while I had a couple of drinks before I had the nerve to go into the club.

The best part of the day is that my CA 125 is 6.  Hopefully I am well on my way to remission.

Just thought I would check in before the "icky" sets in.

    Love you guys.

Karen, Val, Maria - I'm cheering for you

I wanted to write - rooting for you, but according to google this word means something bad in Australia, and we have visitors from all over the world.

Karen - 6 is a great number and kids pay big bucks on the street to get high on Benadryl.

    Get well soon!

    Oh how I wish

chemo could be given without any side effects!  Please know that we're all with you in spirit and I'm hoping and praying that the really icky side effects aren't as bad this time.  I'm doing the happy dance that your CA 125 is 6 and remember that the finish line is in sight!

    Cheering you on,

    Kelly

my gyn/onc says any CA125 under 12 is a zero, so congrats!

It sounds like you aren't just on your way to remission, but you've already arrived. That's worth everything! Hope the next few days go quickly so that you can enjoy the good news

    I am waiting to see

what my onc says.  She determined my CA 125 nadir (lowest point after chemo) is 7 although it was at 5 and 3 before it began to rise again.  I am waiting to see if she orders a petscan.  I would prefer to wait and make sure the monster is gone.  I am very surprised that the chemo worked so fast.  I just wish it could kill every cell, but as we all know those suckers are sneaky.    Thanks for all your good wishes; back to you.

    Hardest thing I ever did

Chemo.  I had to keep reminding myself that it will pass in a week or two, just in time for another dose!  But you are doing a great job reacting so quickly and lowering your ca125.  That is fantastic.  My doctor thinks there is some correlation between how fast your number reacts to the chemo.  Mine reacted well so I believe him......

Hope you are bouncing back and feeling better.  Do you get steroids?  They helped me a lot with nausea and pains but made me eat like a horse!  I think I am the only cancer patient that actually gained weight during chemo.

Take care we are here for you all the way.
