Welcome Back
Hey Eims,
Welcome back, we have missed you too! I hope you look like a ripened grape. Did you have a great time and get to enjoy plenty of sunshine?
One of our friend's has just come back from a break in Rome. He was telling us how excited they were to see nothing but blue skies for a change. It was like long time no see! Anyway he is back home now, central heating on and wearing jumpers again. Has summer arrived in Ireland yet?

There is something unique about Italy isn't there?, glad you had such a good time. Sounds like there is going of be a lot of spag bol on the menu at your place:)
I am doing good thanks! Still have a bit of a drain for a stomach, it sounds worse than when I empty the bath. I think the digestive system must take some time to settle.
Considering the lack of sun the veg are doing pretty good. My other half works hard taking care of them, he loves working in the garden,he is out there at the crack of dawn. It is funny he spent most of his working life in a suit, he used to work in the city of London. He was always smartly dressed, now he generally looks like something the dog has dug up. I tend to throw a loose cover over him when someone comes to the house:)
Hope the weather is going to improve before the end of July, my daughter is coming over from NY. Although she keeps complaining that it is too hot there, so maybe the cooler climate will be welcome.
I could really do with a few weeks of sunshine, I am thinking of stocking up on some Vit D before my bones start disintegrating. The sky is just permanently cloudy, there is very rarely a chink of blue during the day. Then come night time, not a cloud to be seen, clear starry skies!!..I mean! what's with that?
Enjoy your weekend

Just off the coast close to Rimini, so we will pop off to Ravenna and Venice for 1 day trips. We wanted to go to Scardovari again this year but then got a really good offer on a 300m2 mansion in the hills 30 km from Rimini :-)
Yeah, Venice is always packed I guess, at least in June-August. The trick is to do as you did, go to the backstreets and stay away from the area around St. Marcus square.

Welcome Back!
Sounds like a great vacation. I am envious! I'll be lucky to get to the South Carolina coast this summer! And I live there! LOL
I find I am beginning to look like a grape too! A dried one!
It is so nice to see your pleasant and encouraging words back here again. I'll try to send some of our 95+ F temperatures and sunshine your way! I'd trade you, I think!
Glad you are back!

I know the feeling. Having spent the better part of June away on my bike. I apologize if anyone has been affected by the resultant beer shortage. Availability should return to normal in a week or so.

Hi Eims..! Yes they have several (many..?) local Ales... I won't try them all, in fact I will only have a couple of half glasses. Bushy's is one of my favorites (they call it the Ale of Man). I get a big laugh when I see a local order a Budweiser... geesh, even I won't drink that (unless I have no choice). I fly in to Manchester where a very good friend will pick me up, take me to his place for a shower and rest up, then drop me off at the Liverpool dock for the ferry over. FYI, the ferry is part of the whole experience, a hundred bikes in line along with the other vehicles. All the excitment of everyone on board, the smiles are everywhere.! I arrive on the rock around 10 PM and will Taxi to my home away from home..!
Nice selection.. http://goldstarron.com/IOM/bitter1.jpg
The biggest issue is what prezzies (gifts) to bring for my hostess and pals.. I better go shopping soon..!
Cheers.!

I wouldI think you're right!
I would love Ireland! I have every confidence. Guiness of course! I love a beer you can reach in the pint glass and break off a bite! I'm no sun worshipper by nature. Being here in the sunny south is a trial for me from time to time. Still, I love the ocean-early mornings and late evenings of course-whenI can get there, summer or winter.
I'll have to hit our lottery and come for a visit with my family! A friend of mine is a playwright, represented by Salmon Publishing there, though I can't recall what city. She has often promised introductions if we get there! LOL
G'nite! Off to see a former student in Man of Steel! Next week, a former classmate in The Lone Ranger! Such fun!
Michael
