Great news
Wow, I got fabulous news. For six months I have been told I probably have kidney cancer, 95% certainty. Underwent a partial right nephrectomy six weeks ago and a very tough recuperation. Yesterday was my six week check up and the path report. I felt sick. After waiting forty five minutes, he finally called me in, I sat down and he started laughing. He said, not cancer. I had an oncocytoma. I was stunned. It is hard to process, after six months of having this horrible thing over my head, it is gone. Wow. Ssomeone has to be in the five percent and this time it was me. I got very very lucky and even though I have to do the same follow up, I am not a cancer patient. This place has been supportive and comforting and educational. I wish all of you smooth sailing, good scans and pain free days. Your stories, attitudes and compassion for others have been inspirational to me and I thank you.

Good news for two
I am so glad there is another person, I actually am very happy but feel a bit guilty too that I get the "get out of jail free" card.
Relish it! I for one am damned proud of and for you! SOMEBODY has to get it!
Come back and cheer us on from time to time! Spread the word about what we do and how we can use support!
Live on!
Cheers!

I say "Viva Vivaldi", you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about, you are not responsible for our health. We are all happy for you, feel at ease with that. Take care of yourself and enjoy and relish every up and coming day of you life.

Thanks, I will
I have been reading here for six months, so I have gotten a peep into this world. I hope to never have this disease, I got a pass, and I am happy for it. I will read here, to keep up. With such a strong family history, dad, grandad, cousin on dad's side and two other cousins with bladder cancer, I am being tested for genes, because it is so unusual, so I shall now forever be vigilant about kidney health. This is the best site, so much info you guys have been very supportive of each other, it is Heart warming. When I initially searched I found a Canadian site, registered, and immediately got solicited for a donation or a legacy bequest......thought it was an unusual approach. I will keep up on your progress, I wish all the best for all of you in this very difficult journey. I will stand on the side and cheer loudly.

I am glad to hear you are being genetically tested, being forewarned and forearmed is always a good thing. Your family sounds a little like mine when it comes to this blight of a disease. I am definitely prone to it, so much so I could do with the installation of an early warning system...lol!
We thank you for your words of support, and wish you all the best with your tests.

Man, I'm doing a lot of smiling reading posts tonite. Great to hear. Now return your beany. You had the surgery, so keep the patch.

Aww,return the beany?
I did buy a lottery ticket but since I didn't win can't I keep the beany? Yeah, I had the surgery and can't say I would ever like to repeat it. At six weeks I am still pretty sore, still having occasional hematuria and still very fatigued. But I am on the up Slope. Biopsy on breast lump is Monday, hopefully. Having a little problem with the radiologist not wanting to do it because I am on aspirin. I have a cardiac stent, three heart attacks two years ago and I also have a brain aneurysm. Funny, my urologist had no problem doing a tough surgery under these circumstances, but the radiologist is scared to do a biopsy......I am figuring I got really lucky with that kidney tumour, whatever this lump is, well it isn't a kidney lump and that makes me extra grateful. I think I earned my patch for sure and I will treasure it. Even with my other medical issues, the kidney thing, it was definitely the toughest and that is how I know you guys are superheroes.
