NED after local recurrence..... :D
Few of you know ,last month, that my dad was having avastin and folfiri and had a perforation in GI and got operated recently for a locally recurrent rectal tumor..its been 5 years since last diagnoses..
Just today we got a PET and MRI that showed 0 evidence of disease...we were both shocked and happy...how could it be..
can avastin really cure you 100%-no noticable cells with cancer were found...
Doctors think its Avastin but he was never really tested with confirmed biopsy before...
biopsy showed mucinous neoplasm..and FNAC showed inflammation
PET sjhowed lit up areas but noting really confirmed existence of cancer.
Could it be he was treated without confirming cancer
Could he have had cancer and now it has vanished due to avastin?
I want to let people know through this forum to do triple checks befiore confiming diagnoses and also want to knwo efficacy of avastin...

Congrats on your dad being
Congrats on your dad being NED! I've got 3 more chemo sessions left and will get a PET scan after that to see if it worked (I guess). Wishing everyone on this forum was NED!

Congrats to your dad for reaching NED!
Surgery alone can get folks to this state, so that may be what happened with your dad...or it may be that the Avastin played a role as well. It's hard to say, but the main thing is that he got there. Big hugs to you both! AA
