I had my colonoscopy this morning and everything is fine. The dr said I have diverticulosis (one pouch) but wasn't concerned. This didn't show up on the first colonoscopy before treatment so am wondering if radiation had something to do with it weakening the inside of the colon? Didn't think to ask the dr, but then again I was just coming out of sedation. He also "stretched" the exit so hopefully that will help with elimination problems at times.
I didn't tolerate the prep very well, but guess I had enough in my system to clean me out. I'm glad it's over with!!! I see the colorectal dr in 3 to 6 months. Planning to go with six months - that's what it was last time.

Great news! I'm glad you now have this over with. I have diverticulosis too. I'm sure it has contributed some to my recent intestinal issues. I know there are certain foods that can cause me issues. I hope this is not the case for you and that you have no problems. Now you can REALLY celebrate your anniversary!

Yay!
Good for you Annie! Another test down. I have diverticulosis also. Evidently this disease accounts for a lot of emergency room visits, so stay on top of good nutritional choices (I guess what is right for some is not so right for others). For the last four months, I have become a wheat and grain avoiding vegan which is as you can imagine a bit hard, but very worthwhile for me.
Good luck and again congratulations!
Fondly,
Sandy

Glad to hear colonoscopy was fine. No fun to have. But the good news is worth it!
You're right - it wasn't fun, but compared to the treatment we endured, I guess it wasn't that bad. Yes, the good news was worth it! Don't want to see lemon lime Gatorade for a loooooong time!

Did you have diverticulosis pretreatment?
Ann
I wish I knew the answer to that question. I had not had a colonoscopy prior to the one at the time of my diagnosis for AC. The scope that was done 2 days after the colorectal doctor saw me and told me I had cancer did not show any diverticulosis, according to the report she dictated. So, I can only presume that the diverticulosis was not present at that time, which was in June 2008.
