no answer on voice??
This is the second site I have been on where no one can answer about the voice coming back.It must be a rare thing ? or it means your things are not good.We are having a good week so im not going to get upset. It is frustrating though that no one with this cancer has had this problem?? except for my friend who's husband died in 9 months! ok i guess ill just stay off the cancer sites. It would have helped me so much to get a answer.

ok......
Yes my husband and many thers have had voice issues. Almost everyone's voice does come back. I did meet one man at a support group who has been without his voice post surgery for 1 1/2 years now. The Drs don't believe his will return. My husbands has come and gone since the beginning of treatment and even a few times before diagnoses. It is usually caused from spasms related to the EC or treatment. Post surgery it can be caused by damage. Try to chill out. We are all here, just not 24/7

voice post surgery
Hi,
I haven't seen your original posts, I dont come on this site often. But I had the IL surgery with the neck incision and my left vocal cord was cut and I have had a high squeaky breathy voice since. I tried the laryngealplasty where they put in a block to push my bad vocal cord over but it did not work for me. this was 2 yrs post surgery. It has worked for others. But to allay your fears about bad prognosis, I am going into my 4th yr of survival of stage 3 with positive nodes. I have had to learn to live with my voice and also testing the patience of those around me but people adapt and I am so happy to have survived and have had all clear ct scans since surgery. If you have any other questions you can email me at hoperene@aol.com and I will be happy to answer your questions. congrats on your hubby eating so well!! take care,

I understand
My husband never had this issue but many other issues. Try to remember with these sites that a lot of times when people aren't having issues they don't log onto the site. As you know, cancer is so consuming that when there isn't an issue people just don't want to think about it. It used to scare me when I didn't see people post for a while....I worried about reoccurance....but then I realized they are off living life.
I hope your husbands voice comes back. I can't imagine how frustrating that is for both of you!
