xeloda
I am in my third fight against my breast cancer since 1999. This time it is mets and I have a cancer nodule in my lung. I have taken Xeloda every other week for two months. I look for information regarding how well this drug works and I only find information from 2010 and before. Does anyone take this medicine anymore? Is my chemo pill an old way to fight and there is something new and better out there? Any info would be appreciated.

Xeloda a pill form of 5FU
Xeloda is an excellent drug. I know it has been used here recently, certainly since 2010. I don't think the archive search engine works that well on this site.
I might have used Xeloda for my widespread mets to the lungs myself in February. Unfortunately I am also on Methotrexate (another chemo drug) for my uveitis (autoimmune disease) and need to take folic acid. My oncologist didn't think folic acid was going to work well with Xeloda, so I am using Taxol. I was diagnosed in 1994 and after my first set of chemo treatment, I used only hormonal drug therapies for 18 years. The cancer is no longer responding with just hormonal drug therapies.
Xeloda like any chemo will work for some and for some it won't work. I believe Chenheart (Claudia) is using this drug presently and doing well on it.

Thanks for your message. I looked on the internet for updated info about xeloda not just on here, but found nothing. I appreciate you responding. I would LOVE to talk with other women on xeloda. Also i would love to hear more from you since we both have mets in the lungs.Feeling pretty much alone on this.
