This will be my last post
Hey members,
I want to say this will be my last post. I will not just drop out of sight after I get all the info I need,I want all to know I have posted here since May 2010 when I was diagnosed with Follicular NHL. I went into remission in Sept. of 2010, but continued to post when I saw fit to where I could help someone being newly diagnosed. I read the post everyday no matter what. Even though I am in remission and do not know for how long. It may never show its ugly head again. I hope not. Even though I am in remission like so many others on here, so many are just starting out and others have not gotten to the remission stage as of yet. I hope everyone does. I also know some never will and some will pay the ultimate price in the end. Thats a fact even though they have come so far in the last few years with new treatments. I would post news items about what is in the future for not just us, but for older people as well. I cared and wanted them to know what was in store for them with this Socialist Health care. We are all going to suffer because we have a very expensive disease and believe it or not we are all going to be senior citizens one day. We are going to need help and it is not going to be there. It's kind of hard to just live with that as was stated in a previous post by a certain member. Then having to put up with idiotic replies from some politically correct left winger that has their head up their butt is getting a bit much. He claims he does not post because I hijack the thread. He hasn't posted in months beause he is probably in remission and to hell with the other people that need help now. Seen that so many times in my 3 years here. Now he has no reason not to post does he. Let see if he does. I know most of you probably know whats in the future for health care, but some do not or maybe they do not want to face it. Thats fine. Just think of me come Jan.1st and what I tried to warn you about. Good Health to all. I am sure this will be FLAGGED by a certain member. Thats how liberals face the truth. Take care. John

Come Back
What good are we if we can't listen to all sides of a story.Just tone it down a bit and keep contributing. Several of us have benefitted from your experiences and willingness to do research and help find solutions. Same for Nathan. I bet you guys would probably really like each other in person. The way I see it we all have the option to read only comments we are interested in. You guys and just ignore each other while you both continue to contribute. How about it?

No way...
Hey buddy,
You have posted 2133 times over a 3 year period. Are you kidding me leaving? I think not my friend...or at least I hope not! You have helped and welcomed many people through the years, so don't allow anyone to diminish the good you have done. I believe more people than not are scared to death of what the ACA/Obamacare is going to bring come January.Have you been listening to the news lately? It's ugly buddy, and none of it is a "positive" check mark for our current administration. As a matter of fact the crap thats been going on is bordering criminal charges. Try to remember John that many people only hear what they want to hear and no matter what the truth is, they will stand firm with their ideological beliefs, even when they can see things are not right. You can't change, warn or help these kind of people...they are dug in too deep to see the light. Those that disagree with you or the few that have flagged you rarely post anyways. Like you said, they get the help during the hard times, then fade away as soon as things get better. Well...you haven't done that...you've been here non-stop reaching out and being there for all of us. Please rethink your leaving the group. I want you to stay. Talk to you soon...Sue

I think you are a valuable member of this board group and I hope you will reconsider leaving. I have only been here for a couple of months, but is rare that I have searched for a topic and not found a helpful post of yours in the thread. I only joined the site after I was already in remission. Like you, I want to help others. I also want to discuss what I have been through and what I continue to go through, with like-minded people who know exactly what I am talking about. Because they have been there too.
Like you, I have very strong political opinions. But I don't discuss them here because that is not what this site is about.
Lets say, for the sake of argument, that everything you have said and do say is 100% correct. You have warned us. We considered ourselves warned. Now, what is our next step? Worry about it all the time? I am trying to heal and recover from a serious disease. I can't afford to spend my time worrying about a future I may not even live to see.
I hobbled to the polls last November, in the snow, using a walker, the day after chemo (truth, no exageration). I vote. I stay informed. What else can I do?
Respectfully,
Rocquie

I can ride my tricycle ("trike") or catch a ride from a stranger with candy .
Flashback to elementary school: I used to ride my bike a lot to school and to a family owned grocery store afterwards and buy comic books and candy with the money I made from mowing yards and getting deposits on "pop bottles" I'd find. Gosh, life was so simple then and the summers seemed so long. Nowadays, I wonder where the last two years went - oh yeah, there was that "lymphoma thing" .

I may be telling my age , but I can remember the old coke machines that had a turn handle on the front. They cost 6 cents. Put a nickle and a penny in the slot and crank. They were only 6 1/2 oz. bottles but tasted soooo good. When was the last time you saw a Sky bar candy bar? It may be just me , but it seemed the candy bars were bigger back then. Man, I could go on like this all day. DANG, Jim, You tricked me. I said I was not going to post any longer. I will be looking for that bullseye on your back now. LOL. John

Nice job Jim!
Hey do you guys remember the 1 cent bazooka bubble gum with the funnies wrapped around them?? I remember one time trying to fit as many as I could into my mouth. I got to five and couldn't talk and was drooling all over the place... Scooter pies, riding my bike to school, playing outside until dinner and then out again until dark.... So many great memories. I love thinking about those days. Thanks for reminding me. Oh and John, the candy bars WERE bigger back then.
Glad you're back.

I may not post as much as I used too, but I am here everyday. I click on here at least 4-5 times a day and never miss a post. I would never totally desert this family. Just seeing what jim comes up with next is enough to keep me coming back and checking. LOL. John

Hi John
Hi John,
Just wanted to let you know that you have been nothing but nice to me and I really do appreciate ALL of your comments I was reading a book the other day and one of the characters from the book was describing a certain type of person and I instantly thought of you and one of my brothers! I hope I don't offend you or anybody here
written by Heather-Killough Walden
"Good smart people were very often pissed off. Smart people really recognized what was going on in the world, and if they were good people too, then they cared about it. Noticing and caring about it tended to cause people empathetic feelings of anger and fustruation" "As far as she was concerned, all the worthwhile individuals on the planet were angry"
hope this helps a little on your decision on sticking around take care of yourself and HUGE (((Hugs)))) to you
Sincerely,
Liz

Liz,
Thanks for the reply. Never considered myself smart, just observant. I do watch what is going on around me and in the world though. Whatever happens today will have an effect on tomorrow and everyday after that. I learned that early. What is going on in the country today is really pi$$ing me off (thats all that will say about that). I had an uncle that told me to keep my mouth shut around people and let them do the talking. They will tell you everything you need to know about them and their ways in less than 1/2 an hour. Another thing he said was you can never learn anything if you are the one talking. I could go on for hours on some of his words of wisdom. Everything it seems he told me was true. Most of the time people are so predictable and am able pick out certain things they say, like in their post or casual conversation that tell a lot. I am only speaking for myself here. Again, thanks for responding. You are a very kind person and love responding to you. John

Been Gone too long
Ok...So obviously my lil prednisone depression and life vacation have lasted too long since this was weeks ago...lol...boy, I gotta get my life together here and keep updated. You people are the most loving and supporting people and I have temporarily left because of my own personal dilemas *smacks myself in the forehead* I don't know what I was thinking. I am in hops that you are still around, but this is the first post I have read since logging on....Son of a gun, somebody should've sent out smoke signals for me...

Hi Carie. LOL - based on your story about going to the resort with your friends awhile back, what kind of "smoke" should be used? People come and go here and unfortunately there is no universal mechanism in place to find out about someone if they just "disappear". The only smack on the forehead you need is a kind and caring kiss like our mamas can give .
Hang in there and hugs,
Jim

LOL - I'm saving the ones I break to make a candle for you, John . I just can't decide how to scent them yet - do they make a scent for "Pabst Blue Ribbon" or the even more southern "biscuits and gravy"?
