Hallwang and Other German Therapies

in Colorectal Cancer #1

My experience with Hallwang and other German therapies has been more brutal than most, but I assume that is due to my high tumour burden. I have been documenting everything on my blog for anyone interested: mcrc4.com

I stopped systemic chemo 6 weeks ago now. I was classed as having stable disease, while on chemo, but that is a deceptive term. A stable disease is anything with less than 25% growth, so although I was officially 'stable' most of my tumours still grew. To continue down the chemo path, for me at least , I knew was a dead end.

Again one of my oncolgists told me that should I stop chemo, I would have maybe 2 months. Well its been 6 weeks now and I am still in relatively good health (my oncologist will be sooo disappointed), so I am hoping that the german therapies are doing something positive. I'll know for sure next month when I get my next MRI.

I still believe that focusing on the immune system and immunotherapies is the way to go.

    i know about

    PD-1 from glioma studies, it's a great target.

    On a note about immunotherapy I talked to a mother who's kid was in a coma, this kid had done 21 brain surgeries and 4 spinal for multiple reccurent tumours + several chemo regimes and maximum radiation, she was given Sirolimus which is an immune suppresent, she came out of coma and has stable disease which might even be regressing. 

    Bizarre.

    There's an ASCO conference coming up May 31 so there

    should be more reports on CRC and other cancers as drug companies and researchers publicize their results thus far

    Only 29 out of 140 had a

    Only 29 out of 140 had a partial remission, 26 continued to get a long term benefit, 1 had full remission. 3 died from the treatment. Although it sounds great, you are 3 times as likely to die from the treatment  than to achive full remission. Still better than chemo but.

    T-reg

    and also TAM's and MDSC's also various cytokines, it also generates memory T-cells in cancer vaccine therapy.

    Our Onc. will prescribe it.

    Your blog is amazing!

    thx. Glad people are finding it useful. That's the main reason that I am documenting everything so that others can learn from my mistakes and hopefully sucesses as well.

    Interesting,  I went to the site and was happy to see that the place I have gone to for genetic testing was listed amongst the hospitals they have in their network......
