Memorial Day Remberances
Dear Friends,
As we approach Memorial Day here in the USA, many will be remembering all those who have served in our armed forces.
It has been a custom here to also remember those of our comrades-in-arms on this forum who have passed on since the last Memorial Day. They all fought bravely against this disease.
Here is a list I have compiled. If I have missed anyone, please do not hesitate to add them to this thread.
Marie who loves kitties

Memorial Day Remembrances
We didn't post much on this site, but I have been looking at it since 2004 when my husband Denny was diagnosed--We had a good run--end of chemo Sept. 2004 and none until reoccurance in Jan. 2011. Posted alot on his caring bridge site--Dennis Ackerman. At any rate, Denny passed peacefully at sunset on May. 8th 2013. Please add him to your list. It would mean alot to me. Linda Ackerman

Son-in-Law
The above are in my prayers. Please keep my son-in-law in your prayers as well as he is in Afghanistan and a soldier from his unit got hit by a IED today so also he needs prayers as well. He will be ok, but it's tough over there. May you all be safe this Holiday weekend.

Me either, but I'd been gone for a couple months off the board. So many in just a year - so very sad. But remember them all with fond memories.

Didn't know she passed away either. Thought she was doing good but she had been away from the board for many years. So very sad.

Hello Linda,
I read on another one of your posts that your husband was on Stivarga. I am so sorry that it did not work for him. My husband is currently on it and is suffering from voice hoarseness, to the point where he talks in a whisper. I am hoping that this treatment works for him. He was diagnosed in 2008 and had surgery and chemo, and then chemo again, and again, and again - all working well, then stopped working, so we moved onto something new. He is a strong man who is fighting like hell. The doctor always says, you are the healthiest sick man i have ever seen - if that makes any sense. But we will take it. I'm sorry i only found your post now, and could not give you some more help earlier. We will keep your husbands in our prayers, i hope that you have found some peace and know he is in a better place.
Thank you
Sandi
PS: beautiful dog in your profile picture. Bichon right? I also, have one - 4 years old. Best dog i have ever owned, a little too smart for her own good.

Hi Sandi: Just read your post. I find myself still looking at this discussion board. I returned to work full time yesterday and am moving along one day at a time. Peanut is a cockapoo and is the smartest dog we've weaver had. Thanks for the post and I wish only the best for your family as you fight this incredible beast, cancer.
