Good news!
I had another six month check up with oncologist today - lab work was fine. I didn't have a PET scan this time but will have one in November and another six month check up. I see the colorectal dr next week for one of those "fun" exams. I'll be 2 years post treatment June 1. Hard to believe it's almost been two years and what a journey it's been...enjoying retirement now and raising chickens...

That is great news! Do you happen to know what lab work they do for anal cancer?CEA, CBC and another one that was some kind of differential. I should know by now. Don't have the paperwork for the next round because I'll have labs done at oncologists office. previous labs were done at another lab.

congratulations!!! I'm have ct scan in 2 weeks and God willing I will be posting NED. I was diagnosed in August 2011. Looks like you have a horse from picture. I have 3 horses and just started raising chickens.
Thanks! Actually that's a buffalo statue I'm standing next to. Kind of hard to tell by the small picture. Picture was taken at a frontier town. I have 12 chickens. So instead of Anal Annie, I'm now Chicken Annie. Lol! Hope your scan goes well. I was diagnosed March 2011.

Dont you jst love to hear your labs are good? I will be two years post tx in October of this year. After my Aug and November ck ups will o to 6 months between, like you! Go us!
Yes, always like to hear good news about labs! I really like my oncologist. He's very easy to talk to. I still get concerned when waiting for test results. I know it doesn't do any good to worry- easier said than done.

Just looked on lab results. I always request a copy- CBC W/DIFF, W/PLT; comprehensive metabolic panel; CEA

Wonderful news to hear! Congrats! I know the 2-year mark is a big deal, so I hope you're planning to celebrate! Hugs!
Thanks! Haven't decided how I'll celebrate. See the colorectal dr Tues so hopefully he'll have good news too. I should be used to showing my behind by now. Still have problems with the "chute" but guess that's the new normal. Maybe one of these days they'll figure out how to prevent the stenosis or better yet eradicate cancer.

Saw colorectal dr today. He said everything was fine. I need to have a colonoscopy in a few weeks. He wants to make sure everything is still ok. Haven't had a post treatment colonoscopy so kind of figured it was time. I'll have a different poop cocktail this time. Instead of Golightly (wrong name for that stuff) I get to have the miralax gatorade mix plus ducolax. I can hardly wait...

Good for you! Congrats! Just wondering, when was your last colonoscopy? Does the schedule change for us? I know the recommended is once at age 50 and then every 10 yrs.
I hope you found a fun way to celebrate!0 -

I've always done the Miralax/Gatorade/Dulcolax prep for my colonoscopies (of which I believe I've had 3 or 4) and it's not so bad. It's no fun, but not bad. I hope your scope shows no problems!

I appreciate the info. The CEA has something to do with the colon. My colonoscopy was clear but guess my oncologist want to monitor it. My white cell count is still low and probably has something to do with the chemo. Will ask my oncologist next time if it will ever be normal again. He did say the count changes every 7 hours. Learn something new everyday.
