Skin breakdown 7 months after internal radiation to breast following lumpectomy
7 Months following a lumpectomy and a 5 day course of internal radiation I have developed a severe radiation reaction to the breast.
After 1 week of swelling, burning, itching and pain an open blister developed, leaking clear fluid.
Has anyone ever had post-radiation blisters months after the procedure?
Thanks for helping!
Karron

Sorry to hear of the burning.
Sorry to hear of the burning. I had radiation with no burns or dry-ness. (not internal type)
I am sure you will get some advice from others here..

Hi Karron. I had rads, but,
Hi Karron. I had rads, but, not the internal type you had, so, I don't know what could be going on. After I was finished with rads, my breast got better quickly. I was very tender and was dark pink, probably close to burning, but, no blisters. What did your rads onco say? I hope you get some help for this and let us know.
Hugs, Kylez

Feel better
I am sorry to hear about the reaction to treatment. I hope you feel better soon. If you don't mind me asking, what is internal radiation? I had radiation myself. I had some discomfort and peeling when I finished six weeks of treatment. My scar tissue became harder. My doctor told me that would happen. Big hugs to you.
