Swelling and aromatase inhibitors

Hello.  I have been having trouble with swelling in my legs, ankles and feet.  I am on Aromasin but just recently switched from Arimidex due to severe joint pain.  I had the swelling on the Arimidex too but my doctor can't seem to find something to help with this.  A year ago he put me on a blood pressure drug and that helped a lot but now I'm having swelling issues again.  He thought maybe he would have to add another blood pressure drug but my blood pressure is fine (unless I'm in his office).  I monitor my blood pressure at home and it is normal.  He has done the blood tests to make sure everything is okay and it all checks out fine.  I just thought maybe someone else might have experienced something similar and have some helpful suggestions.  Thank you!

    Swelling

    I didn't have any problem with aromatase inhibitor but the first time I was on Faslodex 250 mg, I did.  My oncologist put me on Lasix which is a diuretic for 5 days.  I was to keep my legs elevated during that time and wear compression sox.  It then went away.  Never had another problem with swelling again.

    Ask for a 24 hour blood pressure test.

    I had one and it revealed elevated levels although whenever I had checked it my pressure was fine.  From what I have read, Arimidex can raise blood pressure in some of us.

    Maybe you need a water pill. 

    Maybe you need a water pill.  Has your doctor mentioned this?  Good luck!

    I'm on Exemestane!!

    I take 25mg. i have swelling in my hand i wear my hand compression but its not helping any suggestions?? no swelling any where else??????~~MollyZ~~

    For swelling, they usually

    For swelling, they usually will put you on a diuretic.   Just be careful not to get dehydrated though if you use one for very long.
