Scan day
Hi Ladies
Feeling just a tad bit worried about the scan and what it may show. Normally I don't worry this much, I tend to be rather detached, but I think everything is starting to just be too much.
I am so sick of cancer and waiting for something new to show up. Somedays I feel like it's a game of hide and seek within me.
Hopefully I'll feel more positive when I get up in the morning.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the results will be all good and stable and that the iv goes in on the first try...
Sending you all hugs and positive thoughts
Lisha

I like to look at the CT scan faces and imagine them as husband and wife arguing...

Thanks for the positive thoughts and wishes.
I had a wonderful and talented nurse get the iv going. She spent the good part of an hour just looking for the right vein. Mine are so tiny and the only ones that seem to work these days are in my hands. Bless her heart, she was so worried about stressing me out because it was taking her so long to just look. I told her that I'd rather her take all day looking, verses poking around and just causing me pain. She got it on the first try!
The contrast hurts more when in the hand, but I've had it hurt way worse. They did take a lot of extra pictures of the pelvis, which of course has me worring again. I know that worry is wasted energy, but sometimes it just creeps up on me. It's going to be a long weekend....
At least our heat wave is starting to cool off a little. The temps today were right around 90! Expected to drop 25 degrees by Sunday. Crazy weather. Lots of fires in the state, praying for all the folks who live in the danger areas.
I'll be sure to let you all know the results of the scan. next week I'll set up the ultrasound. just didn't feel like doing it this week.
Have a happy and peaceful weekend.

I know how hard it is not to worry but I am so glad you had such a wonderful nurse. I too am glad that the heat wave has broken and I look forward to the possible rain on Monday and Tuesday, which should help in the fire areas. It's scary to think that the fires have started already in the state.
Hoping and praying that you get good news from your tests!
Hugs,
Kelly

Hi ladies
I have not had a visit with the doc to go over the results yet. I still need to get the ultrasound. That will be sometime in June.
I am heading back to Florida tomorrow morning for a week, so when I get back, I'll chat with the doc. I may call him from FL to get his thoughts on the scan.
I have the report and cd, the known lung nodules are stable in size but there is a new small one. maybe it was there before but too small to see.
No enlarged nodes and no tumors showing. I think this is great.
The radiologist noted areas of concern are:
1. very enlarged hepatic biliary duct and pancreatic duct.
2. possible early superior mesenteric artery syndrome.
Overall my take is positive. The trending up of the ca 125 will be watched closely.
So just need to hear what the doc thinks about this.
Still have some pain, maybe a lot of adhesions are causing this. I know the doc is watching the pain as sometimes the bowel gets blocked by adhesions. But right now it's manageable with meds.
Have a wonderful weekend ladies, bbq today at my daughters and 10 hours of travel tomorrow, ugg...
Always thinking of you all and sending positve healing thoughts your way.
Huge hugs,
Lisha

Overall, your report sounds pretty darn good, all things considered. I'm very familiar with adhesion pains. Last year about this time, I checked myself into the hospital twice for a couple of nights for adhesion pains and partial blockage of the smalll intestine. I was actually very happy to be in the hospital because I knew I would get great pain medication (morphine) there and IV fluids that would allow me to give my intestines a much needed "rest". I left the hospital armed with pain pills to help manage any pain that re-occurs. So far, I've been pain free (knock on wood!). I hope and pray that your pain diminishes with no intestinal blockages.
Enjoy the bbq with your family and have a safe trip to Florida!
Hugs,
Kelly
