Tenderness in Neck after tx
Hi Folks,
I hope you are all doing well. Kreg is doing well at 6 months out of tx. Eating, drinking, and his taste are all coming back. The question of the day is, has anyone had any tenderness around the neck where the lymph node was affected? He never had surgery, just rads and chemo. He noticed this feeling just recently. Not hard pain, just tenderness and little sore in the neck. Anyone have anything similar to compare to? He doesn't go back to ENT til middle of June.
Thanks...
~Cris

Is It's Name Cris..., LOL
Like Kreg, I had my tonsils out, but the tumor dissolved away, no surgery....
At nearly four years post Tx, I still have various feelings there (where the tumor was), and where the rads were most concentrated... Not really hurting, or sore, just it's noticeable...

Yes John, it has to be me....the pain in the neck (or ***) ...LOL
Tim described his feeling like "bruised".....as soon as I mentioned that to Kreg, he said "YES, that's what it feels like". Tender, like it has been bruised.

Mine is kind of like when you have a nerve firing...
You feel it, and know generally where it is..., but you can't quite put your finger exactly on the spot... Which would lead me to presume it's nerve or cell damage from the rads, residual, scarring, etc...
Some of those various aches, pains, sore spots that I speak of....

1 year out and I still get allot of tenderness and tightness but not pain. I did have surgery so not sure where mine comes from. My surgeon told me to call if I ever felt anything similar to a grape. I don't think what Kreg is feeling is unusual.
yes going on 4 years out.....soreness on both sides, and once in a while the muscles will lock, sounds wierd, but it happens.....Dennis, Normal, they tell me exercise and stretch, sorry folks.....its there for life

Cris,
I did get sliced & diced and I do feel a slight tenderness where the lymph node once was (17 months post-surgery).
It sounds like there will always be reminders.
Matt
Come to Florida for a little R&R, I'll tenderize your azz..., LOL fishing in this sun, and sweating out Yankee blood, LOL.
