Really looking forward to Mother's Day! Our kids are coming and the grandkids, and between them and my husband, we should have a delicious meal on the grill. I don't have to do anything except love on those grandkids! lol
My husband went shopping the other day, and, he said he had something very special for me, so, I am excited about that. He is hinting, but, won't tell me what it is.
I hope everyone has a happy mother's day!

I already got a couple of big pots full of flowers for outside. They're beautiful! I am sending my Mom fresh flowers, a Mom's day bouquet.
Weather permitting, we'll have a cookout here. If it rains, we can always come inside.
Happy Mother's Day!

Going over to my
Going over to my mother-in-law's for dinner. She is almost 86 and has a debilitating lung disease that is gradually going to suffocate her. It is easier for everyone coming to bring one of the items on the menu and we just meet at her house. Otherwise, she has to guess at how many tanks of oxygen to take with her -- plus whether or not to take her things for something she has to do for her breathing issues. In the past we have had the dinner here. (When my parents lived in the area, we'd have them come also, since the rest of my siblings are 200 or more miles away from here.)
Her house is big enough to accommodate who all may come. My husband is one of 16 children, most of whom live less than an hour away. So, it is not unusual for us to have 30-40+ come for something like this. If the weather is decent, some of the gang will eat out on the covered porch that overlooks a small lake. After things are cleaned up, those who want to play cards; if the weather is decent, the kids go outside to play; others of us just chill with some reading material.

Which is fine with me! My hubby said I will be Queen for the day and I kind of like that! I think I can carry that off. lol
My family and his family are bringing tons of food, like always, and, we have 4 grills for all of the food, lots of alcohol and non alcoholic drinks and our yard looks amazing. We've had a lot of rain and the grass is so green and my flowers are just beautiful.
I love having everyone here, I love celebrating with our families.
I truly wish all of you the best Mother's Day ever!

Happy Mothers Day! We are all cooking and taking everything to my Mom and Dad's house. It will be a packed house, but, a fun house Sunday. I feel so blessed to still have my parents and want to make any and every day for them always the best. So on Mother Day I want her to feel special, just like she is.
Susie, your plans?
Hugs, Diane

Had a good Mothers DayKristin N said:Having a big meal here and I
Having a big meal here and I don't have to cook it! lol It will be a wonderful day! Happy Mother's Day!
Had a good Mother's Day but it didn't turn out how we had planned. My daughter-in -law that was sick during Christmas and first of the year has been in the hospital for 3 weeks. She's having serious nerve problems. They cant get her meds regulated. Last Sunday evening I was called that my oldest son was in the hospital and they found a large mass on his intestines.Emergency surgery the next morning. It was a stricture and his intestines were twisted. He's better.
Then the Viet Nam WALL was coming to our county the weekend.Myhusband is a Viet Nam vet(Purple Heart Recipient). We pondered on going. We Did but it was very painful for both of us. A guy I dated before he left was killed.I told him I was afraid something might happen. When he was killed I fell apart. The last look he gave me was a stare as if it was the last time. It's a look that I'll never forget. Then My husband sees those who died and the ones he left behind who were killed and it breaks his heart. Then I hurt. He cried and of course I cry over my heartache and his.We pondered about going like I said and now not sure we'll ever go to another one. I will be visiting my friends grave in a few weeks and my husband and I will place flowers on his grave, his sister and parents grave. No one else does and it hurts.Oh we planned going to a Mothers Day Car Show since we had 2 in the hospital this week. The car show was out since it was only 50 degrees and very windy. No matter what happened it was a good Mother's Day. My 3 sons called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and one son was able to come see us and brought me a box of candy.
Hope Memorial Day is better. There's another car show and also want to have a get together and hope those that aren't well are doing better. We won't be wearing coats and my husband in his long johns. We've never been so fed up with the cold weather. In the 50's for 3 days and starting Tues in the 70's and 80's.Crazy weather.
