Cleanses

Marynb.....
I have never done one myself, and now with a colostomy have to be careful not to upset my digestive system also. So far I have only had minor issues with what I eat and seem to be in a workable routine, so hoping it stays that way!
I believe for a cleanse to be truely effective they even recommend de-toxing your environment both inside and out as best you can. So if not already, using natural household cleaners like vinegar etc., and things like baking soda for toothpaste, shampoo, soap, ??? I guess it depends on how de-toxified you want to be! (lol) In the past, (PC.......pre-cancer), I have just taken a day or two and drank mostly herbal tea to just let my body rest, not really a de-tox, just a food break. Our bodies should have the ability to naturally detox to some extent so I kind of feel some the advertised cleanses are just a bunch of hoopla. Good luck, I do hope you feel better soon!

I did a cleanse
I used Vibrant Health Cleanse (I am a fan of this company). It worked great. I fasted for seven days! If you would have told me I could fast for seven days I would never have believed you in a millions years. On the eighth day I drank unlimited quantities of juice (nothing more). On the tenth day I added soft vegetables. I drank eight glasses of the formula a day during the fast and it kept my blood sugar steady. I didn't even get irritable. The first three days are the hardest but they say in the instructions three days is minimum. I could see why on the fourth day. It takes three days to get rid of the big chunks of toxins in the body. I even drank Sea Salt Water (a half gallon) to really clean my system out on the third day. On the fourth day I felt better than I could remember feeling in years.
I feel a lot better having done it. It made me feel like I gave my body a rest as well as a cleanse. I plan to do this at least annually now.
Good luck,
Sandy

Great idea to detox everthing at once, if possible.0 -

Did you realize most detoxing cleanses suggest NO coffee!!!! I would need some real motivation myself.(lol)
Um, can't go without my coffee! I never drank coffee until I was almost 50, but now that I am over 60, I need it to keep me moving!0 -
Detox
I did a cleanse/ detox about 12 months out of Treatment for exactly the same reason. I sick of being sick, in pain after eating, running to the loo etc etc. my detox was just a bunch of fresh vegetables and I piece of fruit (for flavour) in the juicer 3-4 times a day for 3-5 days. I think I lasted till lunch time on the fourth day, I wasn't hungry just a craving to CHEW something. I felt amazing though and it really helped to narrow down the trouble making foods.
