Path report
Well the pathology report from the surgery came in and 2 lymph nodes definitely are positive BUT, The Pathologist was concerned about a 3rd they couldn't say it was definitely the same cancer as the 2 or wasn't sure that it was cancer at all. But had some suspicions of lymphoma...So they sent it to Michigan State University for further evaluation.. I'm just numb... Kathy

Stay strong Kathy
Hi Kathy,
Please don't jump to any conclusions. I know you are numb right now, but let the doctors get all their facts together. It makes me crazy that they tell you something like that before being 100 percent sure. Just continue healing from your surgery and then you will deal with whatever you have to. I am so sorry you are going through this, but remember we are all here for you.
Sending you positive thoughts and many hugs,
Ginny

May be a gift
Even though this is very frightening, it may be a gift in finding a second cancer early. Several pink sisters had double diagnoses and have done well. If this doesn't pan out, thank heaven. If it does they can build your treatment to conquer both. I had to and still continue to work on holding down fear of the unknown, because it is usually worse than the facts that are found. I think shock is a big part of our panic and it takes a while to incorporate our diagnosis into our minds and begin to deal with it. Prayers for the best outcome and your physical and emotional well being. jojo2

Kathy, I know how scary this must be for you
I am keeping fingers crossed it's a false alarm and it will be ok. Otherwise I am glad you are recovering well, I was thinking on you on the day of the surgery. Is your path report otherwise complete, do you already know grade, HER2 and other characteristics? I'll be waiting for your update, I hope it won't take long, because I know that waiting is the hardest of all.
Take care, Carmen

I was told today that I have stage 2b, T2N1a infiltrating ductal cancer. Dr said the MSU report should be in in aprox. 2 weeks. But she feels that it will be fine based on current findings at MMMC path department. The outside consultation is a precausionary measure because one of the 20 nodes one was a Atypical lymphoid follicle, and 2 were cancerous. I hope she is right, and my gut feelings are that she is, but only time will tell. Thanks to everyone your support means so much to me! God Bless... Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I hope you are feeling better now that you have this report. Nothing is scarier than the unknown. Continue to heal and you will be ready to finish this fight. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs,
Ginny
