Can anyone help a ovarian cancer patient in third world country?
Hello everyone. My mom has been diagnosed with third stage ovarian cancer last week. We are from a third world country of Nepal and are below poverty line. We do not have money for treatment and diagnosis so my mom is saying to let it go she is really depressed and has lost hope. I was wondering if there were any charities for ovarian cancer patient like her which can help us. Please help! I really love my mom and I cannot see her like this. Thank you.

Dear Lisamars
Sorry to hear about your mom's condition. Being depressed upon cancer diagnosis is common regardless of the income level. Hopefully she will get her will to live back and fight the disease.
Your mom's best chance is with gynecological oncologist. Your local doctor or social worker should be able to steer you in the right direction. Or contact Nepal Oncological Society http://www.nepons.com/ email neonsnepal@yahoo.com
There is a charity that helps underpriviledged people in Nepal called The Britain-Nepal Medical Trust http://www.britainnepalmedicaltrust.org.uk/about.html.
Scheer Memorial Hospital Of Nepal in Kathmandu - 35% of services are for charity cases http://www.scheermemorialhospital.org;
Best wishes to you and your mom

I'm very sorry to hear of your mother's situation. The SEVA foundation performs some treatments in countries, including Nepal. They focus primarily on eye surgeries and diabetes, so I don't know if they can be of any help, but maybe they could direct you to someone who can.
Best of luck to you.
