Very nervous
Hi everyone - it's coming up on 5 months post treatment and I just found a bulge in my groin area- at first I thought it has to be a hernia- going to general practitioner next Friday. But then I realized the last time I saw a lump I thought it was a swollen gland. I am making myself nuts. I am praying its not C

glad your going in
Yeah I undestand the link in our minds to that crappy c-word. But it is probably just a hernia.....oh wow did I just write that ? A hernia is nothing to mess with either, but will make you feel way better to know. I'm glad to hear your having it checked out ! Please keep us posted on what you find out. Katie

Chances are that it's a hernia....
or the weight loss you've experienced is making the nodes in your groin more noticable. About a two weeks after I found the node in my neck, I found one in my groin....I was totally convinced I had lymphoma. When I finally got into the ENT, I mentioned the node in my groin....he told me they are the larges lymph nodes in the body, and to quit worrying about it....I did, and it vanished at some time...I don't remember when....maybe when I started to gain a little weight back??
Once bitten, it's hard to not go to a dark place when we find a lump......I honestly believe you're going to find out this is nothing.....or at worst, a hernia.

It may not be any comfort ....but I (and most on here) do the same thing when we find a lump, have an ache or something is new that we have not had before ....our minds tend to start racing on us.....
What may be of comfort is we all care and all of us are sending positive thoughts or whispering a prayer ....I know I whispered a prayer as I read this that is all turns out to be nothing serious, which most likely it will....so hang in there and keep us posted. Too bad you have to go to the GP ...I would imagine they will just send you on to a specialist....for something like this I would have seen my onco (and he is kind or maybe just patient enough) to see me for things like that ....at least that would cut out more waiting...
Keep us posted Roar ...and know you are still on that nightly prayer list my friend..

I'm with Phrannie.....
I'm with Phrannie on this one. It doesn't sound typical for this type of cancer...yet, I'm no doctor. My gut tells me it's more than likely a possible hernia. Your doctor will soon be able to address the issue...maybe by ultrasound.
I know it's easy to let the fear take over, but please try to relax and focus on the important things this week. Prayers that you get peace of mind very soon.

Went to primary today- he says I have a hernia- I think that is good news- I know that is good news. Tanks for all the prayers and positive mojo
do make a change after HNC....I'm very happy to hear your bump is a hernia . Sounds strange doesn't it? Congratulating someone on a hernia.
