in Head and Neck Cancer #1

Hello everyone !

We've had a few hard knocks on site but also alot of very good outcomes.  I was on the site accoi....and alot of folks there are fighting hard to beat back this dx.  We've lost a strong warrior there also.  Prayers are very welcomed for fellow warriors.  Words just don't seem like enough....my heart breaks for each and every loss.  This past weekend I was blessed to have a couple of the grandbabies over night.  My granddaughter is 6 mo's....and I had toys on the floor for her...and watched her crawling around just having a good old time.  My grandson who is 4 and seriously acts like 30 some days....asks where we will be sleeping.  I said on the pullout couch.  He looks under the couch and looks at me as if I've lost my mind.  When we finally made the bed, the smile on his face was so precious.  He has never seen a pullout before.  The next day when my daughter came for the kids, and Emily was crawling around, she seemed so amazed.  I asked her what the problem was ?  Wow...Grandma Kate received the gift of seeing little Miss "Emily" begin to crawl.  Who knew ?  So yes enjoy the simple but yet precious moments in life and stay focused on why we stay in the fight.  Hugs sent to each and everyone of you !   Katie

    I notice many people are in a hurry and do not seem to appreciate what they (we) have.

    I can’t answer why some have to die and others not.

    This cancer both scares and humbles me.

    Memories...

    Yep, kids grow up fast...glad you are having time for memories, and hopefully a lot of them.

    My kids are both grown these days, but I can remember those times way back when they were crawling around...

    But then again, I can remember a few days/nights years before that when in the Marines, I was crawling around also... Some during times out in the field..., others might include coming back from the club, LOL...

    Even though I'm not posting as much as I use too, I'm still reading almost every evening...Katie, grandbabies are so precious~~I love little kids,they're so honest and funny! I'm so thrilled that you're feeling up to having two little ones overnight~~crawling, oh my, now the fun begins

    To all the new posters, I wish you all well and you've come to the right board for knowledgable, kind,caring people.

    Sorry to hear about your loss of friends, but also glad to see you are enjoying the grandkids...with five kids of my own ages 2 - 14 ....I better NOT be enjoying grandkids anytime soon....LOL

    Hey Matt,

    We still have a pile of snow in the middle of our small yard here, but with the temps finally in the 60's it won't be long lived !  I can't wait to get out and rake, and plant my flowers !  Yes this year I'm looking forward to a wonderful summer.  I agree with your statements I am humbled also, and wish I could make cancer just vanish from the world.   Katie

    Yes....I am so grateful and yet get very worn out when their around.  But I won't waste a moment of time with them !  And yes, I meant to post positives for our newest members, thank you for doing this !  Katie

    Hi Tim !

    Hee-hee....time goes by so quickly.  I have 3 beautiful grown children, and now 9 grandchildren.  I am not kidding time flies almost so fast we barely have time to breathe.  You are a very good Father, and all I can tell you is your time will come !  accoi is my other cancer site I'm a member of that... is specific to adenoid cystic carcinoma.  (my dx)  Yes it is very hard to hear of the losses.  But every time I hear of a win I celebrate !   Katie

    Thank you...

    Many people are much more appreciative of the military these days...

    Back in the day when MarineE5, myself and many others were active, that wasn't always the case.....

    So glad you are enjoying your life

    I am so glad you are getting the opportunity to enjoy your grandchildren.  Such a gift.  I hope you get to see them grow up and have children of their own. :)
