I wish
that this was the home for esophogeal cancer too. My friends father in law was just diagnosed and I told them all about CSN but then when I went to check out that forum it wasnt nearly as helpful, friendly and resourceful as ours.

I tried out the Multiple Myeloma and Leukemia sites as well. Neither were very active and hardly anyone would respond. This site is the place to be for friendship and lots of information.

Esophageal Forum...
Yep, that's a pretty rough crowd over there...
It's went through some very rough times... Several months ago, they had a member that was pretty high up in their echelon get booted. Not entriely sure of all of the specifics, but a few.
Many members on that forum got really ugly with Greta over it..., really ugly.
If you remember a few even came on to our board slamming me. I had even helped a few figure out how to get some of the old posts back from the member that originally got booted.
A lot of negativity and ugliness got many others booted eventually (nothing to do with the post concerning me)...
But eventually they formed their own site...
Sorry about your friends FIL..., prayers.

I know....
There are only a couple of forums as active as ours.....and that's too bad....This board saved me during treatment, and it's hard not to want that for everybody out there, for every form of cancer. Did you do a search to see if there's another forum on the net that might be active?

Billie,
Maybe she caught them on an off day?
I remember when the girl came gunning for Skiffin, she was brutal, very uncalled for. Now if it was one of us, I could understand, you know, radiation on the head (close to the brain).
I stopped by their and there were a few good guys I could see. Your friend could PM individuals, kind of pick and chose the best of the best or she could talk to you Billie, you are as smart as they come.

Sorry to hear this...
Sorry to hear about your friend and also about the forum here on CSN. That sounds rather disappointing to me. Afterall, cancer is still cancer and we're all in this together. Why get so mean and nasty on there? I guess I've never understood why some human beings feel the need to be that way. Was this guy just angry with the world? Surely someone will come along there and feel the need to "help" one another. Or are we the only ones?
Prayers for your friend to find some comfort in getting some support in his dx.

Billie,
I checked out breast
Billie,
I checked out breast cancer for a friend and found a lot post were just technical and not personal like ours. I hate to sound cynical but maybe because a lot of the other cancer have so much support everywhere, and ours is rarely discussed outside of us and our docs. Till I came here, in Jan, I didn't even know we had a ribbon. I am not resentful of the others, but I do feel more public attention should be paid to ours since so many don't have any telltale signs till late stage.
Thanks fo sharing and thanks to H/N forum for being a supportive and comedic outlet for us all!
Love you all,

I just love this place so much and I wish every cancer patient could have the same support we all have for each other. I did get a couple of PM's directing me to a couple of sites so I am going to check those out. Maybe I can direct my friends father in law to those. Or maybe he can just come here and we can all support him the best we can.
You guys are all so great!

BillieI hate to hear when somebody is newly diagnosed for any kind of cancer... But the truth is that some cancers are more easy to treat or at least side effects of treatment are not so horrible like in H&N cancers...
Maybe you can share info here on this board... Maybe I can help too, because my friends father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last year and had just finished treatment last week!
