I just wanted to throw this out there for those of you that are pretty up to speed communication and computer wise...

With technology and data speeds pretty good these days, communication is pretty great.

Shelley (living in Florida), and her cousin (Melissa, living in Massachusetts), have Skype Saturdays..., cooking, cleaning, yaking...

So anyways, somehow we came up with the idea to expand that last week-end.

We Skyped with Ingrid, Barney and Ted, LOL...

A lot of fun, and next best thing to an actual meet...

Just throwing it out there for those that have became close through this board, family and friendships...

I know I have a few on here that I text message with, Facebook, email and a couple that I have called and chatted with.

Anyways, it's fun and a little more personal...

Best,

John

    Skype worked great !

We had a ball chatting with John and Shelley (and their 2 labs) via Skype !!

Felt like we've known each other forever.

Some have posted about having a CSN Reunion/Meet-Up somewhere.

Skype-ing would be pretty easy to do.

I'm jusr savy enough to be dangerous...but I would be in...

I have an account with Skype.  Set up for my owner who lives in Baja California / Mexico in the winters ...so I do use it but I'm not gonig to say I am an expert.

My skype account is timcogdill1 ....now how you find me or send me a contact request is beyond me (I set it up a few years ago when I took this job) .....

So anyone that wants to send me a contact ..can do so and I will respond and maybe then at a later time we can connect .....

I also would sure like to know how to post a picture on this dag-gum forum....you all can seem to do it, but I can't ....there seems to be no link to copy and past from my Picasa program which is where many of my pics are stored....

See, I told you I was just savy enough to be dangerous...  Sealed

    Try this;

    Using the tree icon (insert/edit image) in the message menu bar, do the following;

click the tree icon, (for an image you have saved on your computer), this opens a pop up window (Insert/Edit Image)

click image URL (the browse button right side), this will open another pop up window (File Browser)

    click the upload (top left)

File (browse..., where you have the file stored on your computer)

Upload (this puts it in a folder of yours on CSN) close the box for upload

click the file you want to post, the Insert File (top right)

put in an image description and title, then insert.

This will insert the image into your post...

    Tim, also...

It doesn't like the image tagged link... I.M.G

But if you Disable rich-text at the bottom left, then insert the HTML coded link (if Picasso has those), it should work.

But if you need to make a change it defaults back to rich-text and you gotta get rid of the inserted code.

    Best,
    John

    I have skype and facetime

I have both but never use them.  I am kind of shy lol.  I am not very photogenic.  I still haven't even printed any of my wedding photos.  I would love to see everyone and hear them, maybe my dog Riley could be my front man.

Face time, I can barely see you.

    John,

Do I have to get dressed?

I’ve participated in Skype with my niece when she was stationed in Africa (Army you know).  It was outstanding.

I hate to spoil what we have going here, but if it is part of the healing process I guess it is ok.

Maybe those of us with PEG buttons could show them off, I change my mind, that is gross, I’ll think of something.

    Oh my....FACETIME!!!

I just got a new Iphone few months ago that my son got me. He thought mom needed to be "up" on technology...at first I was a little intimidated but got the basics down. He left to go back to school. I was left with this little box of technology....ha, ha...I found Facetime and started clicking some buttons and called him with it. YAH!! I called him and said, "Look, your mother found how to use Facetime without any help". I kept calling him all week wanting to do "Facetime"...it was so much fun and I could see him as much as I wanted. Everytime I called him I was giggling over being able to see him and chatting.... it wasn't long and he didn't seem to be picking up any longer....

SO......I probably wouldn't be doing any favors for anyone with Facetime...LOL

    That sounds great!
I should be getting a new computer soon and I'll be able to "come out and play"
    My iPad is a 1 so it doesn't have a camera :-(

Now I have one more reason to be excited for the new comp!
    "see" you all soon.

    another option/alternative to

another option/alternative to skype for multiple people is google hangouts. The last time I checked free skype accounts only allowed for one on one. however with google hangouts up to 12 people can be on simultaneously. All you need i think is just a gmail account.
