help about rad treatments
i am still doing my radiation treatments, and I am so sore and burnt I have six treatments to go yet. I have been fighting this from August 2012 till now. I feel so weak and tired, all I do is try to lay down but my skin is so sore. After the mastectomy and being drained every week with a needle and now the radiation is there anything after that. Like test. I had radiation five years ago after my lumpectomy. Thats what gave me this cancer. The radiation treatments was different from the ones I am taking now. The burns now are worse, they put over me a thing they call bullets. I didn't have that the last time and three machines that move around. Can anyone tell me if they became that tired and weak and burnt? My doctor said he is trying to blast any new cells forming. The cancer will come back ,but maybe not so soon. Its a rare aggresive cancer called Angiosarcoma that always comes back. Can anyone tell me anymore about this cancer and about follow ups on it?

I wish I could help you
but not sure my experience is that same. I had 38 rads treatments and did get burned. I felt tired toward the middle to the end of the sessions.
I am cringing reading about how this cancer that is being treated came along because of previous rads. I pray that your symptoms lesson and that this go around with rads will do the trick.
Prayers and hugs,
Mary

I can't help in anyway but to tell you, you are in my thoughts and prayers... I did see that many were using silvadine cream after their treatments... this cream is an antibiotic cream and also has a numbing agent in it. If you are not using it please ask you Doctor if it is suitable for you.
I reserched the full description...
This Medication is used with other treatments to help prevent and treat wound infections in patients with serious burns. Silver sulfadiazine works by stopping the growth of bacteria that may infect an open wound. This helps to decrease the risk of the bacteria spreading to surrounding skin, or to the blood where it can cause a serious blood infection (sepsis). Silver sulfadiazine belongs to a class of drugs known as sulfa antibiotics.
Praying for you... God Bless... Kathy

I got exhausted during rads, not only from the treatment, but, just from going everyday for 7 weeks. I didn't burn, but, probably got as close as one can get to it.
I used tons of Aquaphor to keep my skin moist and a prescription of Biofine for any burn or redness I got.
6 to go? I am glad you are almost done. I would think if your rads onco thinks your skin is too bad, he would delay your treatment for awhile or even just stop it since you're so close to the end.
I am very sorry this is happening to you.
Hugs, Debby

I didn't have the type of radiation treatments that you describe. I had the regular kind first and then boosters at the end. I also tired very easily and found I needed naps while having radiation treatments.
Thinking of you,
Rose
