Second induction failed aml m0

in Leukemia #1

we just found out my husband's second induction failed.  He's only 44 years old.  After the first round failed to bring him into remission, we were bummed but still hopeful a second round would be successful.  At this point I am absolutely devistated!  is there still hope for us?

    Have you talked to your doctor about options yet? I don't know much about AML, but i your husband is still willing to fight, and your doctor has some options still on the table, I wouldn't let go of hope just yet!

    Really, if your husband doesn't think the physical cost is greater than the benefit (and if he does there's no shame in that), I'm sure there is something to be tried. Every human being is unique and you never know how you will react to a different regimen.

    Yes, he's still fighting. We are meeting with his oncologist tomorrow to discuss options. He mentioned Clinical trials, but I feel like that means he does not have confidence that we can get a cure.

    It's so great that he still wants to keep fighting! 

    Clinical trials might seem like a last ditch effort, but a lot of great advancements have come from them. He's so young, he's in a really great place for a trial.

    Let us know how it goes. You'll be in my thoughts.

    I wish I had seen this earlier; I realize it Has been a few weeks.  Wondering how you are and if you were able 2 enroll in a clinical trial? I remember Very clearly my personal devastation when my husband failed induction the first time.  We were blessed to achieve remission after the 2nd round....with a bit higher dose than normal. I am here if you need to chat.
