Thank you so much for posting.   It certainly is inspiring to read stories such as yours.   I think many people who are long time survivors move on with life and don't let us know how well they are doing.  

I had my diagnosis December 2011 because of a pleural effusion and we have moved on from there with lung surgery, 4 rounds of carbo/taxol, debulking surgery, further carbo/taxol which resulted in a very short remission (2 months) then 3 rounds of doxil which did not work for me but now I have had 3 rounds of Gemcetabine and on this I have had good drops in my CA125 from 425 to (yesterday) 179!  There were big celebrations at our house last night!  Thankfully only very minor side effects too!

Thank you so much for telling your story.  Stories such as yours give us great hope!

So good to hear your CAs are dropping Julie. You hang in there and stay strong. I have been in remission since Aug 2012 but my CAs keep going up but there is no sign of recurring cancer. At least not yet.

. . . for posting your story.  How encouraging--especially to read today, when I face surgery tomorrow morning.  I'm hoping for results as good as yours!  My CA 125 number has fallen from 2,700+ at diagnosis in July 2012 to 31 on New Year's Eve.  But my surgeon has warned that's not the end of the story.  So I'm so happy to hear there can be such a great outcome.  Congratulations!

Thank you for your message.   So good you have been in remission since last August but puzzling about your CA125.   It seems it is not necessarily an accurate marker for everyone.   Keep up the remission and enjoy life.

Julie when I was diagnosed with PPC a year ago my CA125 was 1200. My cancer was contained in the abdomen area and female organs. I had a large tumor on my sacrum. I didn't have anY fluid on my lungs. They were ok. I had 9 rounds of aggressive chemo. When I finished chemo my CA 125 were 47 . The dr wanted them to be 35 or lower during the last 3 treatments. Even though my ct scans are good the markers went up in nov to 68 and then again in jan. I begin having a lot of problems with upper GI problems along with running out of breath just talking. I had another scan the 1st of feb and some GI test and they are finding nothing. I am thankful all is good with me but somehow I feel like something is going on and the drs. Are not detecting it.

I am new to the board. I was diagnosed with PPC April 2012. It is wonderful to hear that you have been cancer free for 5 years.

Hi:  I'm thinking of all of you today and glad most of you are doing OK.  This terrible cancer will be beaten.  I have had it for 4 years now (and obviously longer as the tumours were growing happily away before my surgery in early 2010.  No remission though but they are growing more slowly than expected.  Let's keep supporting each other!

Hi all

My mom was diagnosed 2 months ago with ovarian and peritoneal cancer. After 2 months of aggresive chemo the CA123 was dropped from 1506 to 26 today. So, me and my brother are celebrating today!

I know this is not the end of the story, but, this adventure made me to get to know all of you and respect your way of dealing with this terrible cancer. There are no words to express how all of you helped me to deal with the shock of the diagnosis. I'll keep posting my news and read your news no matter what will happen to my mom.

My deepest respect and thanks to all of you guys!!!!
