Good News
Hi Everybody, I hope you are having a happy Easter. I am doing fine. I received my results from my chest X-ray and they were negative, my blood test results were normal except for my liver function and I am slightly anemic which my family doctor said is normal after what I have been through.Although my liver function concerns me as the MRI I had done on my liver the results were inconclusive this is a bit worrying. I have my good days and bad days, I am very fatigued and need a nap in the afternoon, also I am having digestive issues and feel full and bloated most of the time.I have to remind myself to only eat small portions, yesterday my husband took me for an ice cream sundae and I suffered all day with stomach pains. Otherwise I am doing well, bowels are good, burns are healed, dilator is fitting, I am walking every day and spend twenty minutes at gym, my skin is amazing really soft and no oil. I found some underware made by Jockey that uses NASA technology to get your body temperature 30 degrees cooler they were great when I was going through treatment, I bought them at Macy's. I am loving being at home and not looking forward to getting back to work. I haven't been posting here as I am so tired and sometimes can't muster up the energy, I also need to call my friends because I can't seem to make time to catch up with everyone and friends and family have been so wonderful through this whole experience. Have a great Easter and spring is almost here I can see some tulip buds sprouting!

Happy Easter to you! Sounds like you are on the road to recovery. I have found that I cannoy eat foods high in fat and sugar anymore. Maybe that is a blessing. Maybe instead of ice cream, no fat yoogurt would be better? I buy frozen organic berries and put a small amount in microwave. Then top with low fat greek yogurt, a teaspoon of ground fax seeds, and a tablespoon of organic slivered almonds. Looks like a sundae and tastes great and is good for digestion. Yum!
Have a joyous Easter!0 -

Hi everyone,
I have a question, reading a lot of the posts it seems most of you suffer from diarrhea but I am having the opposite problem. I have not had a bowel movement for two days and have taken four doses of lactalose, plus stool softners. My bowel movements since treatment have been formed with no diarrhea. Yesterday I was visiting friends bad had to come home as I started experiencing upper abdominal pain. Hoping I will have a BM today. Has anyone else had this problem post treatment?0 -

Thanks Mary for the recipe I love it. My daughter has flax seed and almonds on her cereal every day so we had all the ingredients! I need all the help I can get with my digestion.
Everyone keeps telling me I look good but I still not feeling the best. It's hard when my treatment is done and I look alright but still not feeling right but everyone expects me to be back to myself!!0 -

Has anyone else had this problem post treatment?Sudden changes in our bowels can happen post-treatment but the fact that you are having upper abdominal pain concerns me a little. That's exactly where my pain was when I had the bowel obstruction, not to mention the fact that I hadn't had a BM for a couple of days prior to that either. The pain was incredible and I knew something was going on, which was why I ended up going to the ER. I had also vomited because obviously nothing could go past the obstruction and had to come back up. If you have any vomiting, I would encourage you to contact your doctor immediately. I am not trying to frighten you, but since this happened to me, I'm just super-alert to such symptoms, whether they are mine or someone else's. I hope it's nothing serious in your case.

The Colace finally kicked in this afternoon and what a relief! Fortunately, I didn't have abdominal pain. For a while I thought I would have to go see my colorectal dr. Hope you have relief soon!

Thanks for your advice and posts. I did finally go! My digestion and bowels have been sluggish since completing treatment. During treatment I would go 2-3 times a day and not small amounts. Now I go once a day small hard amount, even when I take stool softners and laxatives! I will keep close watch for symptons of a bowel obstruction. I guess this will be the new normal for a while. Now when I eat out I can usually only eat half of what I ordered.0 -

I'm sure you already know that drinking plenty of fluids keeps things moving. Also, exercise is very good for intestinal health. I hope you have no more such issues!
