So much for passing this on, Suzanne.  I wish they had printed the names from the abstracts on the screen so I could locate them to read more in depth.

Got it!  I use to think that is was becasue I was getting older that I forgot stuff but it was my long term memory that was forgotten. Now that I have had chemo it is the short term that is gone.  I really do hate it.  I can be talking and I forget what the word is I am trying to say and then I get so flustered I just say forget the whole thing because I cannot remember my train of thought after that.  Two weeks ago I was talking with my daughter coming into work and I forgot the word I was trying to say and kept trying to say it till I finally got it and my daughter started laughing at me and I blew up at her. I later said I was sorry but told her not to laugh at me when that happened.  I am just glad that it was just my daughter that it happened with because if it had been my boss I might have been wrote up for it. trish

Funny you should mention the chemo brain, as mine is actually a little better...why?  heck do I know, but thinking as time goes on it just gets better and one day we do take note.  My treatments ended July '09 and bet is more about "individuality", as each of us is different.  

Someone whom posts on the ovarian boards and has a great naturopath, suggested the following supplement for chemo brain --

Acetyl CH

I've not tried it, but hear it offers great results...possibly be an option.

I can relate to this, I have the same problem pulling words from my brain, or saying things I dont necessarily mean. I use to be an excellent speller now I second guess myself. I guess we have a good excuse for how we are. My daughter and I are thinking of walking in the Foundation for Womans Cancers Walk this year, anyone else interested? We could start a team!  Tami

I plan on starting a team, just trying to think of a good name, but will be there by myself if I have too!!  PLEASE COME even if it is you and your daughter.  You are among friends and sisters!  Let's make this walk as big as the Komen walk.  Women are more than breasts!  These are women's cancers. 

 

I loved your comment!  I'm so sick of hearing about breast cancer all the time, even though my mother had it twice in different spots in one breast and my grandmother had it in both breasts.  I feel that those of us with other cancers don't seem to count in the scheme of things.  There are so many collections for breast cancer research, but I haven't heard of any in my area specifically for uterine cancer research.
