Dad in Rehab

Dad is doing pretty good in rehab.  He is getting a lot of motion back in his arm.  It still takes to people to help him walk.  He will be in there until at least April 12th.   He is not having any major issues with his peg tube, just some nausea right after feeding.

The doctor in rehab ordered a CT because she did not understand the whole mucus problem after radiation.  There were two small leasions that showed up in his lungs.  She is postive they are cancer and send the scan to his oncologist.  I have not heard anything from him yet.  So at this point I am not worrying about it until dad is out of rehab and then we will focus on the cancer things again.  That is what the oncologist said at the start of this.

I am going to believe that the lesions could be other things.  He has not had a CT of the chest since 2011 and they was nothing there, so this could have showed up anytime in the last two years.

Thanks for everything.

Kathy

I am glad your dad is doing well in rehab. Like I've heard a lot on this site, "It's not cancer until your doctor says its cancer".  I am praying it not.

Those nurses will whip him into shape, and he'll chase them through the halls for exercise...

    good news !

    Kathy

let's just dwell on the GOOD NEWS about your dad's rehab and not worry about the other because it's hopefully nothing to worry about.

So tell him, WAY to go, Dad !!

    Thank guys

Thanks for your positive comments.  John I had to laugh at your comment about chasing nurses.  Dad has invented a new type of therapy for his weak arm.  He blows kisses at the nurses when they come in and yesterday he had to stop at the mirror and fix his hair.  Mom said this was a positive sign he was getting back to his old self.

I know when he gets home I will drive you guys crazy with questions about he peg tube.

    Love ya,

    Hi Kathy

Sorry to hear your Dad is not doing so well. I have had some problems myself but with the side affects from all my treatments. Extremely bad pain on the left side of my face starting at the ear and into the Mastoids, then with neck spasm just under the Jaw; It can go from a 0 to a #10  pain in no time. My bad days and now more then my good days; unless I take a pain pill and I hate to do that but do what I have to do to keep going. I will continue to keep your dad and you both in my prayers.

    God Bless
