My lovely dear friends,
Your kind words are giving my weakened knees strength to stand.
Today, during a non-destinational drive, I told my very sad and crying daughter that because Mason had such an incredible personality that had deeply touched and affected several doctors, nurses and CNA's over the last seven years along with the deep compassion he had for all the scared parents of kids that were also fighting cancer, is also the very essence and reason that Mason was such an incredibly great son and her loving brother. That anyone so unselfish, while also dealing with their own daily painful hell, would also leave behind an equally great void in the lives of those that that loved him.
Lindsey and I are having a great deal of difficulty dealing with such an incredible void in our life right now, but your kind words and prayers DO HELP!
I love you all dearly. I have never forgotten when Hondo had asked several of you to call my hospital room to encourage me when I was dying, after the doctors had completely given up on me. Even though I was heavily sedated I remember all of your words of encouragement and especially when you prayed over me, all this, coming from people that I had never spoken to or let alone had never met. And...here you are all doing it again, but for a different and very sad reason....I love you all dearly.

I'm sorry for your great loss. Please pass my sympathies to your daughter as well. From your words and your posts, no doubt your son was a great young man and understandably will be missed.
Prayers for your comfort, and with this post I honor your son's life in what humble way I can.

Mike I am so sorry to hear this! Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your son Mason! My heart aches for both you & your daughter as you go through such a loss! You are both in my thought's & prayer's !

Chefdaddy, when they told us of your son's passing, I went back and read your posts throughout your ordeal and your sons'. I cannot begin to tell you what an impression your courage and bravery and your son's has had on me. I have never quite heard of such obstacles in one little family's life, but you persevered!! As one who has lost an older child, I can understand where you are, and pray for God to hold you in his hands! Please post as you feel like it, we care!!

Condolences
Mike, I cannot begin to understand what you and your loved ones are going through. I can say when I was re diagnosed with lung and media stynum METS, I was completely deflated. I drew some of my strength and adjustment of my attitude by reading about you and your sons battle.
You will persevere through this.

I don't know what else to say. As I wonder every day will David be here tomorrow. I can't imagine when he doesn't. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for all the pain you've had to endure. You and your daughter will hopefully be blessed with happy, loving and fond memories of your son. I will be praying for peace for you both.
As for your son, heaven just became more beautiful! If I may share with you something that I was to,d when my mom passed away when I was a young girl,
," God picks all the prettiest flowers first. that way when we get to heaven it will be an even more beautiful place"
It helped me and hopefully it will help you too.

As so many others have said you are a very special Man and have gone thru so very very much...you are in our prayers as well. I cannot imagine loosing a Child let alone having to explain it to your Daughter. Stay strong and know your Son is no longer in pain, sick and in a much better place...easier said than done. It is a loss nobody want's to go thru. God had a plan..may you find some Peace and comfort from the Many folks here that truly Love and care for you, this is such a special group of people. I am so glad I ran across this Board/Forum back in 2009. God Bless you and Your's.
