It's done and I'm doing well, the only thing I don't like is the drain tubes and having to empty them (yuck). The pain is minimal sleeping is kind of fitfull but all in all it's been a lot better than I expected. I will try to go to work Monday, just in a supervisory capacity. Thanks for the support Vicki.

2 weeks now and man it burns, not the incisions but the area directly under my bicep. I can't lift anything, doctors orders, and besides, just hiking my pants up causes some pain. I am taking the pain meds. Motrin in the day at work and Hydocodone at night.
I am NOT looking forward to radiation and am considering refusing it and taking my chances, I am ready to be done with all this. I still trust in God and I guess I shouldn't whine. There's people who have gone through lots worse, especially God's son.
O.K.! I'm done venting for now, gonna go take a vicoden (hydrocodone).
Luv Y'all

Hiking up your pants, or trying to lift yourself up from the toilet can be extremely painful -- ever try grabbing a gallon of milk from the fridge? Ouch... oh how glad those days are behind me, and soon they will be behind you, as well.
Golfing is probably out of the question for now .. Guitar playing make take time. Then again, you may have neuropathy in your hands and fingers from chemo -pleasure hobbies will return, believe me.
Charlie you have gone thru a life altering battle - so if you feel the need to scream, vent or yell - GO AHEAD! You have ever right ..
Gentle hugs,
Vicki Sam

Charlie, I am glad you are doing so incredibly well. Going back to work so soon after a mastectomy is quite a feat nevertheless going back with surgical drains still in place. The best I could do was make a trip to the bank. After all, college-age children are in constant need of money! Everyone seems to bunch up in the line and I was so afraid that someone would bump into me. Those opioid drugs are a g-dsend, aren't they?
May you have a peaceful, pain-free weekend.

I'm glad youHey Charlie,
I'm glad you made it through the surgery all right, my wife is two weeks out from a double mast with lymph node removal, she is stillsore especially under the arm pits like you, but it gets better every day. Please do not refuse the rads, anything to give the outcome a better look will help. Amen on Jesus going through a lot worse and remember God doesn't give us anything we can't handle, even though it may seems so sometimes. Take care my friend. God bless and keep us posted on how you are doing.
