Good news today - sort of

Had lab and saw the doctor today.  My last marker was 505 and today it was 554.  So that is less than a 10 percent rise.  Of course normal is less than 35, so it is still high, but not as high as the 3200 when I started chemo last time.

I asked about follow up and he said I did not need to come back for 3 months.  I will not need another CAT scan until the marker rises significantly at a time, or if I have symptoms.  So that was great news today.  I continue to feel good, so I will continue as I have been with my current medicines (aromasin, biocucurmin, and enoxaparin).

We will be headed back to Illinois sometime in April.  We have not picked a date yet.  I appreciate all the prayers.  Now I am hoping to make it through the summer without chemo.  I have had 10 months since the last chemo, and I appreciate each day I have.

Hope all is well with everyone.

    That great!

Any day with out chemo and being poked and proded is a wonderful thing!  My son recently moved to Decater, Ill and he said it is still ice and snow(we're from Texas so new to him!)so I hope when you get home the weather is warm and your garden awaits...and no chemo!  Best, Debrajo

    Great news, Ro

You must be so relieved to have kicked chemo into the long grass for a while.  Sounds like the combination of aromasin and curcumin is slowing the growth considerably.  Hoping and praying that you can keep off chemo for a very long time.

great news, you get to enjoy summer

Lets not forget spring too! Maybe after being outside during the next several months enjoying fresh air and sun will actually kick those numbers down and you will enjoy fall out of treatment too!

Glad increase is minimal. Some docs may interpret as no change.  So happy you have had a significant respite from chemo!!  I long to join you...

Big hugs to you.  Mary Ann

    It is good news

You got through the winter without chemo so why not the summer too?  Just keep moving that goal further ahead.  Do stay put in florida awhile ,though.  We got about 10 inches of snow here yesterday.  My poor little snow drops were starting to bloom but have had their heads hidden again.  Spring will be nice when it does get here but I'm not wishing a single day away!

    Keep it up, Ro.

Ro, great news!!  Keep doing whatever you're doing and don't rush back to the cool weather in Illinois.  I'm in Missouri and considering today is FIRST DAY OF SPRING, our high temp will be only 37 degrees.  I'm looking forward to flowers and green grass as I'm sure everyone else is too.

    Hugs,

So GLAD to hear your news,

So GLAD to hear your news, Ro! I hope you maintain your current good health and enjoy the Spring & Summer w/out interference of this disease!

I must agree w/some of the other comments, though, rgarding returning to Illinois. It is freezing here in DE and altho I will deal with the cold weather and gusty winds which make the wind chill factor worse I am so looking forward to my tulips blooming once it gets warm, being able to walk w/out a coat and gloves, and smelling the honeysuckle come June!

I saw a red cardinal today so warm weather must be on the way!

Best of luck! You'll remain in my prayers.

Ro, so happy for you. . .

Glad that you can look forward to the next 3 months unencumbered by doctor and hospital visits.  And, best of all, when you have your next checkup - that will put you at over a year without chemo.

And as you often say to others,

    in peace and caring Smile
